Nick Diaz says his brother could beat Khabib and he surely could as well. If Lewis can fight again that quick on the main event in Nov 3, I supposed could Khabib or Conor could as well. Neither really got beat up too bad compared to Lewis who took a damn beating and dropped the other dude right at the bell.(In fact the crowd cheering was so loud, the buzzer was barely heard............

Anyway Diaz vs Khabib would be interesting. I dont think Diaz would let Conor get any points like last time and let him run as much. Khabib specificially said in one interview "I wont let him run away like Diaz 2. I'll take him down and smash him"

I'd rather see Diaz/ Khabib than McGregor/ Khabib.

It's going to take a BJJ black belt to beat Khabib.

Agreed. I said that from the beginning as well. Plus, the Diaz brothers can take punches all day long and both their ground games are top notch like Khabibs.

Nate said after the 2nd fight he made the mistake of letting Conor run away and should have just tackled him down instead of wearing him down.

Funny thing was, Khabib said just that. He said on one interview he wouldnt let Conor get a bunch of good shots, and then run away. He'd take him down so he couldn't.

well this sucks.
Lance Pugmire said Dana White stated that they won’t be looking for a replacement and Diaz was also “definitely off UFC 230” as well.

Ariel Helwani followed up on the matter, which had the Stockton-native respond typical Diaz fashion. He called for a title bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Asked @NateDiaz209 what’s next now that Dustin Poirier is out of UFC 230. His response?

“I’ll just fight Khabib when he’s ready.”
— Ariel Helwani (@arielhelwani) October 10, 2018

Dana needs to make this happen! Or maybe Conor will start some talk about the Trilogy again.

I dont see Diaz having the ground game to take on Khabib, tho he is a beast from his back, Khabib is on another level.

Nate doesn't have any pull anymore . Nick needs to settle the score with GSP if he ever fights again.

Agree, but only Nick or Nate would have a real chance against Khabib on the ground. Motosmith above said it. Gonna take a BJJ black belt.

Nick said the other day they both could beat him, so I'd like to see one or the other.

X, Joe Rogan said it. Nate and Nick would have been the best ever but too many times they put in half hearted efforts to win most fights, and had they took it more serious probably never would have lost a single one.

Khabib already accept a rematch with Conor but wants a Record Breaking Payday. Can't blame him.

I don't see it either. Once Khabib locks up Nate's legs, he takes away a significant portion of his ground game and the ass beating commences. I think the only guy who stands a legit chance of beating Khabib is Ferguson.

Check this out.

https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2018/8/8/17662754/ufc-dana-white-once-ben-a…

“Ben Askren hit me up a few months ago and said ‘what are the odds that we can talk about me getting into the UFC?’ White said (transcript via MMA Fighting). “And I said we can absolutely talk about it.”

That change of heart, however, comes with one condition.

“And we, I had him, I said you need to send me a letter, before I even talk with you or meet with you or do anything, I need a letter saying you’re a free agent and you’re able to whatever,” White said. “And he’s not a free agent. He’s not a free agent, he’s under contract with One FC and he’s going to have to go fulfill his contract with them before I would even meet with him or talk to him.”

The 33-year-old Askren (18-0, with 11 wins by stoppage), last fought in November 2017, where he successfully defended his ONE Championship welterweight title against Shinya Aoki via first-round TKO. The said contest also served as his retirement fight, but he remains to be listed as the promotion’s welterweight champion. Earlier in the year, Askren was trying to drum up a fight with former UFC two-division champion Georges St-Pierre.

Khabib can't because we have to wait to see how what kind of punishment he will receive from the Nevada athletic commission.

Conor won't pull enough now to do the trilogy fight. Plus he runs the risk of losing back to back losing star power. He needs to get a win under his belt, along with Nate, then have them collide.
The trilogy fight is like the Ace card the UFC can hold now in an already stacked hand with the lightweight divison and pull it out next year sometime.

Kevin Lee and Al Iaquinta just got booked today for a fight.

Ferguson would be a hell of a fight with him. But Nate won't take that fight as he would most likely lose.

If I had to put money on it, I say they match him up with Justin gaethje.

Good Points. Conor is 1-4 now i think.

Nates last fight was a win in mosts eyes. That whole thing was a cluster. Worst case should have been called a No Contest or a Draw according to the guys Rogan had on his podcast.

Khabib even said he'd never let conor get a win the way he did with Nate. He'd tackle him down so he couldnt run and that was Nates mistake.

I've said it before the first Diaz fight. The lightweight division is stacked and Conor was going to have to become more rounded when he moved up. Conor was able to mentally break Eddie Alvarez and he froze up like a deer in headlights. Alvarez played his game and stood with him. He might have fought Nate at 170, but Nate is a 155 pounder. He really is. And sure, Conor can tear through the 145 division. He was huge for that class. If he starts fighting consistently and fighting with guys like Lee, Ferguson, Barboza, Pettis, and even Iaquinta, he's going to be tested big time. And now that we've seen Khabib do what he did to him, I don't think he'll be able to get in many of these guys heads.

It's kind of like the Ronda Rouseys downfall. She was unbeatable, until she wasn't. Holm and Nunes weren't afraid of her and they knew how to beat her and she got destroyed. Ronda was beating girls before they even got in there by the mental warfare. When that ended, she had nothing. I'm not saying that Conor is going to go down that path, because I don't believe he's a one dimensional fighter. I think Conor can come back from this if he fights a lower tier guy and gets one back in the win column. But he's not fighting 145 pound guys anymore. His left hand seemed crazy because he was hitting 145 pounders with it.

I also never bought into the champ-champ bullshit. Casual fans will claim he's the best ever because he's the first to do it. Well, he was also the first to be given the opportunity to do it. Belts don't mean as much in the UFC as they used to. You used to have to fight 5 or 6 times in a division to even get a shot. Conor's first fight in the division was for the belt against a guy who never defended it. It was all laid out perfect for him. A lot of people don't know this, but before Mcgregor was even a name in the UFC, Jose Aldo wanted to fight for the 155 belt when he held the 145 belt. They told him he had to vacate it as soon as he walked into the octagon at 155 and he wouldn't be allowed to hold two belts at once. The UFC and Dana White really fucked Aldo over once Conor came along. Aldo never lost a fight for 10 years, was shit on most of that time, never promoted, and then the night Conor got the belt, Dana and the Fertitta's were in Conor's locker room popping the champagne. Aldo didn't matter anymore and never got a rematch. But you can guarantee Conor will get his rematches every time he loses.

You're correct. 100%.
Plus conor has good weight cut coaches. Dude drops 20-30 lbs for weigh ins. Thats a lot of advantage.

Diaz said it also during an Interview, he "was fighting midgets and needs to fight real sized human beings" and beat them down before the fight even happened. Then he mentioned it again during the presser.

Nate is the first to not care about Conors BS, and is the first I ever saw to basically get him to shut up cold. Either that or he just gets Conor all frustrated like Khabib did.

I just like Diaz fights because the Pressers and after interviews are always good!

From MMA Mania.
https://www.mmamania.com/2018/10/8/17952446/khabib-mcgregor-payouts-eag…

While athletes are still permitted to pursue additional sponsors to supplement their combat sports income, no brand other than Reebok is allowed to appear inside the Octagon or anywhere on location during fight week, making it pointless for companies to pay for exposure they won't be getting during that time.

Here is a complete list of UFC 229’s official salaries before PPV tallies and other amounts still being counted.

According to the report, fighters will also receive royalty and payments up to 20-30 percent of any UFC-related merchandise sold that bears his or her likeness.

Khabib Nurmagomedov: $2 million (no win bonus)(Stripped due to Melee for Now)

vs. Conor McGregor Loss: $3 million (no win bonus)

Tony Ferguson: $150,000 to show ($5,000 to win)

vs Anthony Pettis: $145,000 to show ($145,000 to win)

Ovince Saint Preux: $86,000 to show ($86,000 to win)

vs. Dominick Reyes: $45,000 to show ($45,000 to win)

Derrick Lewis: $135,000 to show ($135,000 to win)

vs. Alexander Volkov: $75,000 to show ($75,000 to win)

Michelle Waterson: $50,000 to show ($50,000 to win)

vs. Felice Herrig: $40,000 to show ($40,000 to win)

Sergio Pettis: $46,000 to show ($46,000 to win)

vs. Jussier Silva: $43,000 to show ($43,000 to win)

Vicente Luque: $38,000 to show ($38,000 to win)

vs. Jalin Turner: $10,000 to show ($10,000 to win)

Aspen Ladd: $12,000 to show ($12,000 to win)

vs. Tonya Evinger: $30,000 to show ($30,000 to win)

Scott Holtzman: $30,000 to show ($30,000 to win)

vs. Alan Patrick: $30,000 to show ($30,000 to win)

Lina Lansberg: $20,000 to show ($20,000 to win)

vs. Yana Kunitskaya: $25,000 to show ($25,000 to win)

Grey Maynard: $54,000 to show ($54,000 to win)

vs. Nik Lentz: $50,000 to show ($50,000 to win)

Ryan LaFlare: $33,000 to show ($33,000 to win)

vs. Tony Martin: $28,000 to show ($28,000 to win)

But that’s not all, so take a look at the rest of the Reebok earnings (courtesy of MMA Junkie):

Khabib Nurmagomedov: $40,000 def. Conor McGregor: $30,000

Tony Ferguson: $10,000 def. Anthony Pettis: $20,000

Dominick Reyes: $4,000 def. Ovince Saint Preux: $20,000

Derrick Lewis: $10,000 def. Alexander Volkov: $4,000

Michelle Waterson: $5,000 def. Felice Herrig: $5,000

Jussier Formiga: $10,000 def. Sergio Pettis: $10,000

Vicente Luque: $5,000 def. Jalin Turner: $3,500

Aspen Ladd: $3,500 def. Tonya Evinger: $3,500

Scott Holtzman: $5,000 def. Alan Patrick: $5,000

Yana Kunitskaya: $3,500 def. Lina Lansberg: $4,000

Nik Lentz: $20,000 def. Gray Maynard: $15,000

Tony Martin: $5,0000 def. Ryan LaFlare: $5,000

TOTAL: $246,000

According to the payout structure (see it), the more fights you have combined with UFC and the now-defunct World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) and Strikeforce promotions, the more coin you have for your combat sports piggy bank. And the less fights you have under the ZUFFA banner ... well, the less you get. If you have a problem with the structure, take it up with UFC ... not Reebok.

I hope Dominick Reyes got a big locker room bonus, because $90k is nothing for the beating he put on OSP.

For better or worse, the Diaz brothers always show up. That was true of Poirier as well up until today.

Injuries are a part of the game and happen to basically every fighter...except the Diaz brothers, who have never withdrawn from a bout due to injury in their professional careers.

Jorge Masvidal said he'd fight Diaz at 170 on 3 weeks notice. Ive never even heard of this dude.

What about Diaz and Gaethje? Or Ferguson at 155? Everyone wants Diaz because thats something to watch.

“Quit bein’ little bitches, straight up,” Diaz told TMZ about Dana White and Co. “I’m not excited at all,(About not being the main event) I’m stuck in this shit. That’s what it is. November third I’m comin’ to fight, so whoever wants it can get it. I'll fight at 260. IDGAF"
