So I decided to get back into RC cars as of late. About 2 years back I was racing 1/8 scale nitro truggies and after countless blown motors and tons of money spent I gave it up.
My son asked to hit up the local RC shop (Pegasus) on the way home from the track last weekend and I end up walking out with a $450 RC car. Shit, back in it again, but this time I went brushless electric. I love nitro, but I figure I'll get more overall fun with a low maintenance electric car. Well I get the damn thing home and first thing I do is go on ebay looking for all the best hop-up shit I could find. First thing is some new bumpers, and decided to try my hand at painting an extra body. I've never painted polycarbonate bodies before, but I used all the right paints (Tamiya) and took my time and think it came out rather well. I still need to apply some more decals, but for my first try it came out pretty clean.
This is the Slash VXL 2wd and ended up getting a Lipo 2s battery. Wheels are Proline split sixes sitting on Blockade rubber. This truck hauls ass, but found it flipped way too easily so now it's completely disassembled in my garage as I wait for the LCG chassis to arrive in the mail with the big bore shock kit.
Any of you guys have experience with this truck? What mods and things do you find best for it?

The Shop
I'm having so much fun with this thing at our local tracks and bashing around the neighborhood. Just like with MX bikes, RC is definitely an addiction.
I had to do the same and cut holes in the rear of the body for more air flow on jumps so it doesn't have a parachute effect. Got the Proline body mounts as suggested above and is much better. Nice trucks Lostboy, I may get a Slash nitro next. More to come!
first things first though, slap a Villopoto 2 numberplate sticker on that green beauty
