for me today. Heading up to woodland park to cut 3 cords of wood. Picked up my permit yesterday for 45 bucks. They have already cut the trees down and limbed them All we need to do is block and load. I will not be cold this winter. If my iphone has a signal I will post some pics of the cutting site.

Clean your chimney regularly if you burn pine in your fire place.

Y'all don't cook with that shit too, do you?

Pine is the most prevalent wood in colo. I supplement with some elm from in town.

Have fun cutting it all up, cutting firewood is hard work, but the good kind!

Is it cool there?

IF you REALLY wanna work, get one of these splitters. Put it on your tractor and watch the fun begin. You cant feed it fast enough and this thing will work you into the ground.

You guys have it good. We had to use one of these...

Over strikes will kick your ass, then Dad kicks your ass for breaking the handle. The old man welded a piece of schedule 80 pipe on a head one time. You want to talk about a teeth jarring experience...

We had one of those and a Hydraulic splitter! Wood furnace no other heat. we mixed Ash with Hedge and the house would be about 85 when you went to bed and about 45 when you woke up! GOOD TIMES!

Best log splitter ever made. You can keep all those slow hydraulic rigs.

Too brutal to describe. I heard that is the best way to get goat meat good and tender. Kind of like a marination process. I have never eaten goat. Just not my thing!

What's one of those go for, Bobby? Looks like it might be a worthwhile investment, and it doesn't look like you'll hear stories about having to cut your arm off to get out of it.

Unfortunately, those models arent made anymore due to this:

http://classaction.findlaw.com/recall/cpsc/files/1991apr/91060.html

But you can still find 'em if you goggle around watch Craigslist. We used to run the hell out of ours and never had any trouble with it if you just use your head. Its no more dangerous than the chainsaw used to cut the wood up to begin with, you just hafta use your head.

I actually like the design of the one in this vid-clip.

That thing looks GNARLY! I bet it works well though. My fireplace is gas! No mess but also no smell of woodsmoke...Sad

I buy my wood ready to go. a $100 bucks usually gets me through the winter but thanks to global warming I went through 2 loads last year.
I get lighter wood behind my house and am amazed at how effective that stuff is.
I love to come home in the winter and crank up a big fire and watch old movies.

My hydraulic splitter works plenty fast enough for me, but that thing is pretty cool.

I want one for the back of my tractorShocked

6 cords or so. We only use wood for heat, I ran out of wood in March last year, not going to happen this year.
