Im on the fence about this deal. The guys are idiots. And what they are doing and the way they are going about it certainly seems illegal. But damn if theyre not fighting the good fight. And I think its the only fight they can wage. I doubt anyones pockets are deep enough to fight the fuckin Japanese Whaling industry in court. So all thats left to them is to be a big pain in the ass to those sushi eatin fuckers.

I realize that most of you on Vital are against anything that even seems like its about saving the planet or any of its wildlife (after 10 years or so I do get how you think) But could any one of you that hates all this tree huggin/ fish lovin shit tell me just why the Japanese need to harvest 1300 whales a year for "tissue samples" Year after year after year after year after year after year after..........?

That Paul Watson guy and his band of idiots are some of the largest tool-bags I've ever seen, but it makes for good TV!

Seems like the Whalers stepped up their game this year. Did you see that big-ass water cannon?

If there's a problem with the "scientific" whaling, it lies in the agency which gives the Japanese the permits to harvest those whales. If you don't want the "scientific" whaling and you think ramming things is the way to change things, you should be ramming those officials cars who gave the permit.

Then if there are no permits and the Japanese keep whaling, and nobody does anything to stop them you might, just might be able to justify taking the law into your own hands.

It's not that I'm anti- "save the planet". I'm anti terrorism and anti-vigilantism.

I'm with SteveS on this one.

They're within the law.
If you don't like it, change the law. Take the money they're pissing away on boats, fuel and provisions and use it to protest in front of the UN Building and/or wherever they make the rules.

Let's also not fail to mention that they're piss poor sailors with minimal knowledge of proper sailing, seamanship and rules of the sea.
They're inexperienced hippies behind the helms of a few several ton ocean going vessels perpetrating acts of terrorism and piracy on the high seas
