Any of you heard about the new Batman movie/trilogy about to begin? I just found out over the weekend and saw the trailer....holy sh*t it looks great. It's seems to resemble the Dark Knight in that it's a very serious, not-campy and believable story. I hated all the Batman v Superman crap, Ben Affleck, etc. This new one stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Paul Dano (from There will be Blood) as the Riddler, Colin Farrel as Penguin.

The trailer and interviews I've read with the cast and directer Matt Reeves makes this appear to be a much darker, gloomy, psychological Batman than before. And finally we get a very serious, brutal Riddler instead of the campy Jim Carrey from Batman Forever. It's supposed to be a trilogy so no idea if they would attempt to include Joker in movies 2 or 3. I read a rumor that Johnny Depp could be involved but only a rumor, would be very hard to follow Heath Ledger and Jauquin Phoenix and they already said no chance of Phoenix being used as Joker in these movies which kinda bummed me out.

Anyways - check out the trailer. Covid keeps bumping back the filming and release date but so far it looks awesome.

Man, I have completely lost track of how many Batman movies there are. In canon, how many separate "series," are there? I'm thinking it's maybe four now?

-Michael Keaton
-Val Kilmer?
-Christian Bale

I don't like Pattinson, but I'll give it a shot.

I never have either but after seeing him in "The Lighthouse" with William Dafoe I got a new appreciation for his acting ability. He's done everything he can to distance himself from the Twilight BS and this movie looks like it could put him on a whole new level.

The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises are awesome in my opinion. Especially the second one. I’m not a Batman fan but I think those two movies are pretty good.

This new one has potential for sure.

I hate that guy. I took my 14 year old daughter at the time to the movies years ago. Figured it would be my good dad deed. I had no idea what it was about. Guess which one...

Trust me I would have said the same until I saw him in The Lighthouse. I wouldn't watch Twilight if you paid me to but he's done everything he can to distance himself from those movies. When my wife first mentioned this movie and him I said bullllshit it's gonna be garbage until I saw the trailer. It looks legit.

Looks like they are incorporating the "Joker Gang" from the Batman Beyond series rather than the Joker himself. That would be a good idea I think as the recent performances of Joker just can't be topped in so many people's minds and it is smarter to sort of pay homage to them this way.

I've never seen any of the previous Batman movies so I guess this looks like a good one to start . I also feel left out....everyone hates this Pattinson guy and I've never heard of him Laughing

The best Batman movie/series by far is the first one, but I keep a open mind and want to like every movie I see so as long as it just doesn't suck I try to enjoy them, and I haven't been to a movie theater in 20 years, I watch them at home so I can watch with CC otherwise I miss to much dialog.

Lol . I watched the Adam West Batman show as a kid and was too young to understand the whole thing was tongue in cheek . Awesome show
