I'm sure they'll live stream it but so far no info on how to watch or what time it will be.
EDIT: 10pm Central time. Livestream link here:

I'll check it out, but realistically, a TSLA pickup wouldn't be practical for me with the amount of long distance driving I do.

Many thanks to everyone helping me out this GNCC season: SRT Offroad, Acerbis, FCR Suspension, O'Neal Racing, Evans Waterless Coolants, Rekluse, Twin Air, Braking Brakes, Carbsport

It will be interesting to see the final design they went with. All the original intent was to build something massive, but I wonder if that will have been scaled back?

I heard on the radio that Elon said it would have the power of a Porsche and utility of an F150. And be under $50K.

It will probably be more like "Eventually we will offer one starting at under $50K, but if you want one now it will be $100K." How long it it take to get the $35K Model 3 that was touted from the very beginning?

Never actually. Tesla announced they will not make the promised base model that offered the lowest price. They called all pre-order folks and either up-sold them or refunded the deposit.

Honestly Elon needs to quit stacking stuff on his plate. The big rig, the roadster, the model Y, and now a truck before even working out the kinks in the cars they do produce. It’s like the solar tiles they promoted years ago and never came out with. I’m a Tesla and Elon fan but it’s getting to be a bit much.

Tesla did sell the $35,000 Model 3 for a limited time. They never validated a smaller pack for it, instead they used the same size and software limited it.

You can actually still get the $35k Tesla, but it's not listed on the website. You have to go into a Tesla center to order one.

The pickup might actually do pretty well. Even when I was working full time doing residential construction I could probably get by on the range they are talking about. I don't have a way to charge one so it's moot for me though. Some people just like trucks even if they don't really need one. My daughter loves her Silverado. I will never own a car as long as I live. Show me pics of Ferrari's and muscle cars and I'll fall asleep. Show me a pic of a cherry red 57' Apache and my tongue gets hard.

Why do you not have a way to charge an electric vehicle?

I hate to hijack the post about the truck, but your comment brings up a good question....When I drove a Model 3 Performance, that particular car had the performance motor hardware, but did not have the 20" performance wheels, brakes, or suspension. The associate at the Tesla center told me that configuration was an "off line" option that used to be available, but no longer is. Was there actually a Model 3 Performance option that was just "the motor?" Are there "off line" configurations that you can build to get you a car that is more suited to your liking?

I think my kids that live in apartments in the city would have a hard time charging conveniently. Not sure if I'd like to charge overnight if I didn't have a garage in a rainy area like Seattle, either.

But those aren't issues for everyone, obviously.

Excited to see what this looks like. Told my wife Tesla was unveiling a pickup tonight and she said “You know I saw their logo today and realized it looked like a uterus.” I can’t unsee it now. laughing

I live in a rear house on the property with only street parking.

City life is even better. NYC already has a lot more charging stations than gas pumps. It is a lot easier to install charging to street parking than build gas stations. As for apartments, I imagine you’ll see apartments build in charging infrastructure in the future.

What is your concern with charging outdoors in the rain? There are charging stations owned by Tesla and others in all climates with near zero issue.

My home charger has probably 20’ of cable. Could you run power from your house and be within that distance?

Well, it looks like I can now trade in my F150 on...... a new F150. smile

I’m not sure. My wife loves the look of it and I hate it. Hmm.
