My thoughts on the CyberTruck:

1) The look wasnt for me, but its growing on me. I think a lot about owning a Tesla is being different from norm, this truck amplifies that.

2) The materials/tech is cool

3) Elon just made a civilian armored truck

4) The windows breaking have more to do with the how the demonstration was done and little to do with the material itself. If you noticed, during the glass demonstration before they went over the truck, it didnt break. Also, notice each time they performed the demonstration they adamantly made sure the glass was tight in the fixture.

Now, during the experiment Elon decided to do the sledge hammer to the door first. As designed, not even a mark on the door, but due to the door not having a “give” or plastic deformation, the energy from the hit had to go somewhere. Theres 2 likely options: A) The vibrations from the hit cause the window to “fall” within the window tract causing it to not be tight in its frame. Cool The door hit caused micro-flaws in the window creating a stress concentration, when hit, the window’s was already weakened so it shattered. Given the window is a layered polymer composite, you most likely will not go “through” the glass even if it shatters as you saw in the demo.

Embarrassing yes, but if they would of flipped the order of the demos, it most likely would of not happened.

It will be interesting to see the safety ratings/tech. Im guessing the engineering design team, although wanting this robust armored vehicle, also didn’t want a stainless steel coffin. Who knows, like the Semi, this truck seems too far away to really tell.

What happens to the bed cover when you need to load a bike in the back?

Huh.
Didn't look like enough room to do that.

The specs are impressive but the body is like made by carton paper.

Damn Ezz, even just the subtle tweaks in #2 make it so much better.

Yeah old-mate has done the best versions I’ve seen. Makes the original look even less “futuristic”.

I like #4 the best. But yeah, just goes to show how awful the original looks.

The problem is they can't stamp the body panels because of the thick stainless.

I guess one big advantage of the Cybertruck design is that the shipping costs should be much lower.

Surprisingly, these are probably safe to use as long as the actual supercharger cabinets are not underwater. You can’t see them in the pic to be certain though. I’m not saying I would use them but there’s a good chance you could.

Why would this charger be so close to the grass on the side? Unless this picture is photoshopped, which it probably is.

It doesn't appear to be photoshopped. I did a little searching and this appears to be the site:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tesla+Supercharger/@51.4282264,-0.898…
It’s a real picture that has been circulating since last December. It’s in Europe based on the cables since they have both the traditional supercharger plug and CCS handle. The area is known to flood as well apparently.

Yeah. Looks like satellite view is from before the chargers were installed. Flood plains are a real thing.
