How would this place be if every response was a video message, not some anonymous avatar text fest?

I suspect crickets would chirp. I want to see some Zoom discussions.

Is that Jeff Lowe?

And for cryin’ out loud don’t quote it. Seeing it twice is twice too many.

Just got home from California. Mini vacation. Met a nurse at the hotel in San Diego. She was headed home that night. Been quarantined in the hotel since March. She worked the ICU. She said she couldn't remember how many patients had died but 6 of her co-workers had passed from covid. Not huge numbers in the scheme of things...unless you are a family member or friend...then it's HUGE. That's all I have to say about that.

That’s the scary and interesting thing about this disease. It seems the more you’re around it, the more severe it is. It’s almost like it is nuclear radiation in a virus form.

Any word on the Covid spikes after Sturgis? So we’ve been told the protest didn’t spike cases, Strugis didn’t spike cases, most likely Lorettas will not either.

One that they know of. There will be more, but I think the bigger worry is that all those people who were in a packed bar with that one guy, will more than likely lead to more infections...and now that those possibly infected have gone home throughout the country without knowing they are carriers, are ultimately going to spread to others in their community. That was the big fear from the get-go. But I think if we're all realists, there is more than one person who came there with the virus. I mean 460,000 bikes (plus 2 people on many of them), you gotta believe there were perhaps dozens of carriers who packed the numerous events and bars with masks being a rare sighting. I hope this doesn't become the case because of how spread out across the U.S. people came from and now are back home. Not to mention the places they stopped along the way...gas stations, diners, hotels etc.

Even if it was 1,000 infected. Out of 460,000, I'll take that.

That is nothing. A problem would have been 20,000-30,000 infected

I cannot believe they’d even put that in their news

I guess so. But if 1,000 were infected coming into Sturgis, and 10,000 got infected while there...what happens when 11,000 people leave and spread across the US to their hometowns? I guess I'm just looking at it through the lens of why we can't get back to normal, because we can't stop the spread. We're just prolonging the suffering. Meanwhile, I'm going to get back to figuring out how my wife and I are going to homeschool our 2 kids while we both work. Fun times.

I look at as if there were 1,000 infected going into Sturgis they would have been in their hometowns spreading it just as quickly as they did at Sturgis.

Anyway, best of luck with the kids. My grandkids are doing online schooling this week

True they would have been spreading it in their hometowns.....but in their home towns are they standing shoulder to shoulder and interacting with 400,000 other people in bars and concerts etc. Then those 400,000 people return to their hometowns and spread it there where it otherwise wouldn't have been

It's kinda like the difference between me having it and giving it to my immediate family in my house that i quarantine in, or giving it to 300 people at a wedding or function if i don't quarantine.

I'm not saying thats going to end up being the case, but thats the theory behind these super spreader environments.
