Eventually I'd like to get a really good setup, but I've heard of a lot of 200-300 bookshelf speakers that will knock your socks off. Thinking maybe I should get some of them to get by for now.

Im just a sucker for the old big stuff with big power. Plus it looks so dang badass. Everyone always has a story about their old silver faced setup when they walk in my house. Glad to see other people still dig it.

^^ Agreed. The huge bulky stuff just looks awesome, I always think that type of stuff looks like it'll set off a car alarm parked across the street Laughing

The old stuff is awesome. My old speakers back in the day were Cerwin Vegas with 15 inch woofers and big ass tweeter horns. With 30 years of working for a living I am no audiophile but those things were awesome!

The Adcom stuff is high end but Ive had mine for 25 years. Its good stuff.

Haha, thats awesome man. How are the Phase Tech speakers? I haven't really heard anything about those guys.
They're good. it has been a while since I was up to date on their stuff though. I have replaced the woofers before but that was user error.

The good ol days, used to run a Yamaha 1020, B&O turntable, a pair of McIntosh speakers and then added a pair of Bose 901s that I hung from the ceiling. Always wanted to go McIntosh preamp and amp, bigger or more McIntosh speakers, and upgade to the top of the line B&O turntable.

Yea I've run a ton of different speakers off the little 1080's, zero complaints ever. Just using the Bose cause they have good looks that tie in with the furniture... plus the store is 10 foot tall glass frontage, don't wanna be buying any new window panes either Grinning
