I bought 'A Brief History of Time' when it first came out. Lots of good info in there but a difficult read for a noob, fortunately when it came out I had just read 'Relativity For The Million' earlier which made it easier to follow Hawkins thinking. (Gardiner's book is excellent BTW, get yourself a copy - you wont regret it)

Brilliant mind and equally arrogant prick all in one. Hubris of the highest order. John Preskill played him like a Stradivarius.

RIP you smart mofo and thanks for the contributions to humanity.
