I also thought the entire purpose of Starlink was to fund Starship and the Mars plans. I have no idea how that would be possible if they went public.

I've caught great waves at Boca Chica... had great times, camping.. paddling across the channel, etc.

it is a beautiful place, and adjacent south padre island is the best surf in Texas! I'm honestly sad to see the development... but lack of good jobs in that area is what has held them back, so this development is arguably a god send for them. I'm old and liked when it was just sand dunes but whatever... get off my lawn!

I had a job offer as a die maker from Tesla ,the compensation was a slap in the face (half of what i make now) and required me to relocate .

How much stock would you have received as an employee? A buddy of mine is a designer/engineer and I believe in charge of a team at Tesla in California. I don't have any idea what he makes or what he gets for stocks. He told me to let him know if I was interested in a job but I don't want to move either and pretty sure I make more doing what I am doing than what I would get from Tesla. Plus I'm thinking about retiring, not getting another job. Smile So for now I'm just buying stock and enjoying the ride. Smile

The offer made no mention of stock . This would have been probably almost 4 years ago . Even if there was mention of shares ,I wouldn't have been smart enough to figure that into the equation. I was basically turned off by the idea of relocating to california for 18 dollars an hour. The taco joints in western ny pay 14 an hour. It would have been a good offer for a younger guy with no family to pick up and give it a try .

If it's anything like SpaceX they offered 10k worth of internal stock. The company is externally valued by outside sources and set a price for employee shares. Takes 5 years to vest. That would be a laughable number of shares if Tesla operated the same way.

Most of the jobs in Boca Chica are temporary, not worth the trouble. Jeff Bezos' (owner of Amazon) space company Blue Origin is hiring hot and heavy right now. They also have plans for a similar internet constellation in a slightly higher orbit with fewer satellites.

Bezos just cashed in $4B worth of AMZN for more funding. He seems to have spent a lot of money over the last 20 years on BO but has yet to reach orbit. They're building big though.

I deleted all social media apps on my phone, and never had FB on it. Recently deleted my account completely. It's crazy how many times I've had a conversation with family or friends and had ad's pop up about things we talked about.

Big Brother is already listening. Thankfully my life is so boring I don't think they care anymore. lol

Yes I know that.
I'm talking about you are not even on Google or conducting a search.

Then miraculously when you look at Google later on at some point it comes up as the phone listens to your conversation .

I have had that happen and yea I don't have anything to hide I just think it's a huge invasion of privacy.
