Given that July 4th was on a Wednesday this year it freed up some time for some channel surfing for sports. Aside from MLB and World Cup the choices were pretty slim but c'mon on ESPN !!!??!!!
Spikeball and Cornhole tournaments? There were 10s of people in attendance... This was right after the novelty of the food eating championships.
Am I missing something? Are these "games" turning into sports?

For the record, I own a cornhole set for the backyard but only play it with a beer in one hand and the smell of BBQ in the air.

I have a buddy that takes it way too serious, plays Cornhole like some degenerate gamblers play pool. He makes some side cash tho, he made like 4 grand at a tournament last summer but it's still lame

They keep showing them over and over. I couldn't believe either when I saw them on TV.

I played spikeball in Laughlin. I got a nail in the bottom of my foot and the irony was overwhelming

Best i ever played cornhole:

at a bachelor party in the state forest - we went riding and at the end of the day grilled and played games before some gals showed up to ah, well entertain us... anyways..

my brother and i took a couple hits of acid and started playing some drunk dudes in cornhole for $40 per game... we were absolutely dialed in and crushed everyone we played. It was a LOT of fun. except i think we gave those nice gals most of our money later that night...

Yea eating out is gonna be a pro sport here in another 10 years.
Watch yourself, my bloody steak and potato is a sport. It sure shouldn't be televised but it's a sport. Calling it racing to the death as an American. Playing cornhole on tv, i would rather watch a fat ass eat a good steak then play corn hole. Tha fuck?

Nice , it started right in the town I live in . The original guy was my science teacher . I built the mold for the frisbee after the current owner decided he didn't want the junk the Chinese were selling him.

Here we go again... Channel surfing and come across this earlier today. College Spikeball Championships on ESPN at 1:00pm on Saturday afternoon.
Disturbed me so much I had to take a picture of the screen and paste it here.
Look at that HUGE overflow attendance of 40 people,,, excluding the teams and staff in the front row. Ha!
