Size does matter.
Early 60's Michigan 280 that I use around my place. 8V71 Detroit. Runs great, and sounds even better. Nothing like a two stroke, ya know!

Wheres the 3-point hitch?
Is it yours?
The Shop
Like my stuff, fun for about 15 minutes then you gotta get it back in,drain it ,and other stuff,up on blocks so tires don't fucker .
Guess I had enuff and am jaded, lol
I learned how to drive on that badboy and have been building tracks ever since going on 30 years. Not recommended by the way.
45k lbs?
Do love the sounds of those detriots.
It doesn't get used much now that I have a backhoe.
I have 40 acres, and it was really handy for clearing land when we first bought the place. You won't find a tree that it can't push over.
I’ll see if dad can send me pictures on mom’s iPhone and will post. He has an aversion to smart phones though.
The motor wasn’t stuck so my dad and my uncle used a come along to get it on the trailer. He got it running then took it to my uncles farm to store it and it was run every now and then for fun.
I once ran it without filling it with water and overheated the engine. I was young and got water out of the milk house and filled it up with it still hot. Dad was not happy that day. He didn’t start restoring it until much later.
Here is the ‘35 John Deere B in 2004:
Here is another pic of what it looks like now:
I didn't think that a wheel dozer thread would garner much participation.
Besides, ask any chick what that is, and she will probably say that it's a big tractor thingy. That means it qualifies. 😄
Pit Row
This is the wife and her '38 B. Just a mag, crank and hand brakes. The first tractor with rubber tires standard.
Branded that, anyway. But Case IH roots. Hard to keep track of who owns who or what sometimes in the tractor world.
You have a nice B. A girlfriends neighbor had a D21. First time I saw a chisel plow being used - BIG power. I love the sound of those Farmalls too - wouldn’t mind an H, M or MTA. What’s they saying? If it ain’t red leave it in the shed.
Yeah Ive heard that about red, I gotta admit the International **86 series are some badass machines. Would love to have a clean 1086 to pull a pasture renovator, subsoiler and/or offset disk. My neighbor uses his with his big Aerway aerator.
Always loved old tractors especially the blue or green variety, but same as motocross, modern designs have less charactor and all look the same to me now.
Not sure that ROPS is rated for that weight though
It may not look like it in that picture, but it is very stout.
I have owned it for almost 20 years. I paid $3,500 for it, if I remember correctly. Still really enjoy running it. 😃
Neighbor had one that his late father rebuilt the engine on, replaced the brakes, and put all new hoses on.
Starts right up and everything seems pretty tight.
Looks like it has the old 4 stick controls, which I am not excited about, but he only wants $4k for it.
It looks like you can pull 2 pins and swap 2 hoses and set the backhoe off so it could be used just as a loader with a little weight on the back.
I have an older case 350b track loader that has a backhoe that sets off that way. Has a quick connect and backhoe sets off in 5 minutes. It needs an all new undercarriage and I am thinking I would be better off getting the ck for less than a new undercarraige.
Besides the 35ob, I also have a case 450c dozer. I really like the case equipment because it is easy to work on and there are all kinds of parts options.
They were ahead of their time on hydra static turning instead of turning clutches.
The 350 is different because it just uses individual brakes to turn kind of lIke tractors, so when you turn it locks up one side and the other speeds up twice as fast through the differential.
Thats the next thing Im looking out for is an old used farm hoe. Ive been mooching my neighbors old hoe when I needone, but need to break down and get my own in the next few years. If a person needs to bury a dead cow or whatever else is sooooo handy to have an older model used hoe around.
About this time last year I dug up my old propane tank with Trent's hoe. That thing had been in the ground since the 50s.
