Good article.

NPR reporting is good, it's the programming/choice of subject matter that is skewed.

Listened to this on the radio the other day. It was interesting.

The statistics immediately got me thinking, based on those poll numbers there's a 0.011% chance of a school shooting at any of these schools that participated in the survey. This is similar odds to being killed in an accident at work or an incident on the road while traveling.

Yet our media is focused on these topics nonstop...I understand why & not trying to discredit or minimize school shootings, but the probability says these are such rare events.

The report basically said that errors (read carelessness) in filling out the survey caused the totals to be so skewed.

True story, just last week, My boss's wife teaches at a Jr. High (not a great neighborhood)...she was told to search a student's locker for suspected stolen phone. She finds the phone...and vape (no biggie really)...and a knife...and a loaded 9mm. WTF...Jr. High?

Times have changed so much. I was raised out in the country and every kid that had a truck had a gun rack with a 30-30 and a 12 ga hanging on it. And no one ever locked a car door or worried that anything other than a coyote or a skunk was gonna get shot.

My brother in law was ranting and raving about possibly being killed by a terrorist. I told him that the chances of him being killed by my sister were hundreds of times\ higher. Which is true. He watches too much cable news. They all promote their own hysterics.
