Shrooms are popping...

Went out today and found a few!....... We were walking across a farm field and I told everyone to look at the ground for arrow heads... Typically, you'll find an arrow head in the fields before you find Morels...

I was proved wrong.. Celeste found the most, so she wins.. But, for our first trip this year, we did good!

Damn you -- I have found two this year, and we have been doing alot of looking by the river at work.

I just took a double-take on those pictures. You aren't boiling them are you? I roll em in flour and fry them in butter.

I got 9 pounds of them last year.

No, We're not boiling anything!!

The first thing we do is soak them in salt water for a few hours.. Then we slice them in half and wash all the dirt and bugs out of them..

Once clean, we make our own batter, fry 'em up and grub!!!

Okay, just checking. Smile I saw you soaking them in the first picture in a bowl and the next pictures they were in a pan on the stove and I was like WTF?!? I knew you guys wuz different up there in East Peoria but I'm glad you're not that different. Smile

I have friends that hunt mushrooms, but i dont.. The ticks are allready out down here, as far as arrow heads i used to look for them yrs ago, ,,
