Saxis Island, VA

So I am taking my girlfriend to Saxis Island for three days next week. It lies on the other side of the peninsula chincoteague is located on;. I am familiar with chincoteague, but i understand their is a Saxis pier. Any members here ever fish it? or around the area?

Also any small town food recommendations?
