China Town is sorta neat. Having dinner down at the pier is pretty cool. I think I stayed at the Omni though it might be renamed now. I had a view of Alcatraz right from my window. Fun place to visit but would hate to live or even work downtown. Traffic is crazy.

Print out a copy of the San Francisco Human Waste Map so you will know where not to go!

I want to go back during fleet week...

When going to the Golden gate bridge I'd suggest to go up what I think is called "Conzelman Rd". We accidently stumbled across it and got some great views of the bridge with the city behind. It got some great view points. I think most people just stay at the golden gate, don't

For the sunset drive to the north side of the bridge take that exit and wrap back under the bridge. It's called the headlands area. You will have the best view of everything. Old WWII gun placements all along are wonderful pieces of history. After that go back down to pier 39 for dinner at any of the restaurants and afterwards walk along the wharf look back at the city lit up behind you. Amazing(panty dropper). Then walk 3 blocks ove to Ghirardelli Square and watch the cable cars turn around and go for a ride if you wish. If you have a few minutes during the day take her(I'm assuming here) to the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate park. Chicks dig it and it's pretty cool for us dudes that can appreciate these things.

Just a couple of things enjoy yourself.

Pier 39 is a must. Coit Tower is cool too.

Strongly recommend a hop on hop off bus ticket that will take you around all of the must see's with interesting pieces of information through head phones as you drive past areas, for as many times as you want, on the second time round you hop off at what you liked most, buses come every 15/20 minutes to catch to your next destination.

Haight Street was an interesting walk for sure!

Little Italy----or whatever they call it (just up the hill from downtown center). It is basically an alley with a bunch of individually owned italian places. Kinda surreal, and the food was outstanding.

Rent a Segway and tour the city lots of great sites and places to go. Check out the Tonga room at the Fairmont. You want views have a cocktail at the top of the mark in the Mark Hopkins Hotel. Check out the Redwood Room at the Clift Hotel. So much to see so little time.

You couldn't get me on one of those things even if I had a sumo suit on riding on a field of marshmallows.
