Wife wants a compact SUV or SUV that sits pretty high. The problem is she's 5 2" and 100 lbs. so it's hard for her to even see over the hood of a Nissan Altima.
I am digging the Subaru Crosstek but she want's something a bit bigger. We just bought this rooftop tent so I need something good for camping. I'd like to get out the door for under $25k.
A lot of those compact SUVs look so dorky. Here is tent we just ordered for like $1200, so I need a vehicle that will work well with it.

We enjoyed our 4 runner. I think it’s considered a mid size but maybe something worth looking into

Check out a 4runner . It is one of the last ones that are built on a truck frame and actually designed to go offroad.

I'm loving the Forerunner, but they are getting a bit pricey- I think they start at around $35K. The new one is nice.

I also liked the 4 runners when we were looking for an suv (like 10 yrs ago), but we ended up with a pilot. Now I love that thing. The awd system works flawlessly in the snow and ice, has third row seats that fold down for storage and the 2nd row folds down for even more. No issues with it ever. We just had a bad snow storm this past weekend in NW Ohio and I told the wife I would drive the pilot before the silverado in the shit cause it handles better. Been a great family car for us for over a decade now. One time we even hauled a ktm 65 home in the back from like 2 hours away cause I didnt want to drive the truck.

We have one too. A 2007. Has almost 250,000 kms on it. Has been a very good rig.

My wife has a ford escape that I like driving. It's pretty fast with the ecoboost engine, handles good, rides nice. We took it from WI to Devils Tower, Yellowstone then Zion/Bryce Canon with no issues, good gas mileage and never was uncomfortable.

I just picked up a 2016 Forester XT. My first turbo and it's really fun compared to the old Impreza I had.
My wife is also small, but says the visibility is amazing. Large windows, low hood and sits higher.

Give Subaru a look. I also really like the Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona, but decided to stay with Subaru, at least for now. They are a little smaller though and brand new models.

if you have 2 kids of less the i would get her a truck
my wife came from an expedition and claimed she wanted something substantial, used ram 1500 big horn 13k hemi v8.

strap the 2 car seats in back plenty of room in front, put a cover on the back with the dividers and she will be fine power seat the goes up very far and sensor in the front too!

she wont let me drive it

Yeah no thanks. Truck prices are outragous and terrible mpg. Several small suvs getting 40-50mpg for less than a base model single cab pick up

I'm pretty sure just by the title alone, this isn't what he's looking for.

Wife and I both wanted a 4-runner, until we drove one. Clunky with a terrible interior layout. Bought a Pilot and love it.

Yeah, anyone can Google something. I wanna hear about the several that get 40 and 50 mpg, in reality. Not one Google search.
