Times change and that healthcare monster has gotten bigger and more greedy.

Not ready for socialized medicine yet but if someone doesn't tame the monster we aren't going to have any other choices.

Cost have definitely gone up, but what he says about it opening the door for them to grow the program to cover everyone and giving the gov. way to much control over peoples lives is as true today. Obama made the comment (I think before the election) about how it would be incremental changes and take 15-20 years before they could expand it to single payer, just as Reagan said they would. Cost is where we should be looking.

The biggest health-care special interest lobbying group there is to this day.

Reagan got paid for this, it wasn't idealogically driven, it was $$-sign driven.
But then again, that IS the ideology of the right, isn't it?
