Don’t know why I lose everybody and everything I love. I’m strong, but I’m tired. When will I have paid my penance, for my past, Lord, when?

I try to put on a happy face and tell everyone I’m fine. Well I’m not.

That dog didn’t deserve to die.

Mate, sorry to hear that. But you must remember the good times too. You know, when Gus drops a silent but violent fart on you. TongueWink

Sorry for your loss. Gus looks like a beautiful dog. I had to put my buddy down a couple of months ago, and I still think about him every day.

Even though you pulled a recent "Mutt persona" on me in a recent thread I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.....😢

Very sorry to hear about Gus, looked like a great dawg, glad you have another to help you get through this.

Hang in there....

I slept maybe an hour last night, only time I haven’t been a big bag of tears. Rode around this morning talking to him and petting the box.

Laid him to rest in a corner at the Practice Pen. That’s his collar on the corner post.

Ensured his head was facing the chutes and arena. It was our happy place, he played his games and I played mine.

That is a gut wrenching story....😭

Maybe when the time is right try to find another one like Gus, certain breeds have similar characteristics and I'm sure Gus would not want you to be sad for long. While no dog can truly be replaced, it helps ease the pain.

I feel for you James hang in there buddy.

The only negative thing about dogs is that they aren’t around long enough. RIP Gus

Very sad to hear of your loss- can tell by the pics how much you must have loved that Dog.

My Mom rescues abused dogs- has rescued like hundreds and cost her all the money she has.
Have seen some sad and happy cases with it all.

Will show my Mom your thread- she will especially understand I think. Just 3 days ago she had our dear little Amy put to sleep through old age and she was crying.

Sure Gus is still with you, even though he has passed- if that makes sense.
Pets are the best!

Was so nice how you said, "He taught me more than I taught him.."
God bless to you both.
