Just watched it. Ok speech. Nothing was really said that kids dont hear already.

Constantly looking left then right and never straight out at the audience.

Just who is he looking at?

Looking at? Teleprompters.

That's why I have to laugh at all those people during the campaign that talked about what a great speaker he was.

That speech was AWFUL!!! Filled with propaganda! They played the speech backwards and it said kill whitey and bow to king Wright!

"Just who is he looking at?"

You must have missed the second sentence of the speech.

"I'm hear with the students of Wakefield High School..."

It was cool he gave his Mom props, she is the one that made him what he is today, funny you don't hear to many folks mention her name. Speech was ok, it looked like he was watching a tennis match with the double prompters.

Kept there kids home? That speech was nothing more than same lecture you got from your aunt or uncle or grandma or grandpa at a BBQ with the family when I was young! Blah blah blah

It's the presentation, not that he is reading it? What is the big deal about that???

I just watched it again with the release of the speech from the day before. He READ it word for word.

Ahhh, yes, the Teleprompter!! Didnt think of that he would have them at a talk at a school! But you are right, he was reading from the teleprompter. Now, that is sad.

I could have stood up there and gave the same speech from my heart and my head without a teleprompter. Maybe a notecard or two to keep yourself on point, but TELEPROMPTERS??? Its a High School for Christ's sake. He read the damn thing word for word, truly sad. Why didnt he just get up there and "talk" with the kids?

Again, now hearing it a second time, it was ok. Nothing to write home about, nothing my kids dont hear everyday from someone in the family or at their school. But then again, he wasnt really talking to my kids. 4.0 AP students that have never been in trouble a day in their lives (except when they didnt put their clothes away like I asked).

In case you haven't forgotten he is working on a lot of other stuff other than trying to memorize a speech.

You have to memorize a speech like that? Come on. I could give a talk like that to kids off the top of my head.

Yes you could, but Obama has shown that he doesn't do well adlibbing. I doubt they want to risk one of those moments again.

That's what I'm saying. His handlers know him better than anyone, and there was no way they were going to chance it given the uproar they started by doing it in the first place.

My wife said her kids (1st graders) had a hard time staying awake, but I thought it was a very good speech. He said all the things that kids these days need to hear.
