Lots of alike minds here. I was big into bmx dirt jumping as a teenager. Got into surfing, snowboarding, drag racing/hotrods. Finishing a ls1 swap in my 64 cadillac right now. Gearhead for sure. This is my latest adventure though. A few jumps away from my A license. This my first tracking dive. So much fun!

I just learned that perris has a skyvan plane. Those look so fun to jump out of! I should have my A by the end of February. You still jump?

Thanks man. It’s amazing what you can do with a lot of spare time. I did quite a few drawings last April (during lockdown). Here’s a couple of other sketches I did during that time.

Yes they've got a Sky-van it usually doesn't fly unless the DZ is crazy busy. If you go up there enough you'll catch it eventually but its not the norm, 99% of the time you'll wind up in one of their Otters. Skydive Arizona also has one, go out there for one of their boogies and you'll for sure catch a ride on it. I stopped jumping in 2016 when i bought my first house and didn't have the cash to do it anymore, talk about an expensive hobby.

Pic taken on 2-3, Fredericksburg Pa. I thought it looked spooky with the snow and old leaning tombstones. I got a call this morning that my step Bro died on 2-3. 11-18 his and my birthday, he found out he has cancer on 11-18. Odd because I don’t take pics of grave yards ever.

Question for you.

When you guys make these climbs, how do you get back down ? The same way you went up or is there other safer routes located close by ?

Looks like some fun, but scary as hell too.

You rappel down. This route has two bolted anchors to rappel from but most ice routes don’t so you have to build an anchor either with gear (ice screws, cams, nuts etc.) or make a V thread. You can only rappel half the total length of the rope because you have to fold the rope in half so you can rap with two ropes through your belay device for increased friction and safety. When you get to the end of the rope, you build another anchor, pull the rope down from the first anchor, attach the rope to the second anchor, and keep going until you get all the way down

I got a little spare time today. I decided I’d try to make something with an old piston. I’ll post more pics as a complete it.

Trying to detail this thing with a Dremel is a pain.
I’ve taken this about as far I want to. Now, I just have to figure out hardware for making a body.

That's badass ! I guess a rod would be the obvious choice for a body, maybe sold old valves for arms and legs ?
(I know it's a 2 stroke piston I figured maybe you grenaded a thumper somewhere along the line and might have some old valves laying around) Cool

Thanks man. I’m not too sure how I’ll fab the body. I no longer have access to a wire feed. But, the plumber in me is saying use copper and detail it the same way. I can use larger diameter pipe for the torso and cut it with a dremel for a rib cage.
Arms and, legs will be where I need to do the most figuring out for the joints.

I was home from work for a couple weeks after getting snowed in and, once the snow cleared, Covid.
Trying to figure out a way to pass the time, I learned how to tie salmon and, steelhead jigs. I pour my own lead and, powder coat the jig heads myself .
Criticism appreciated.

I’ve been restoring an older snowmobile the past year….It’s been quite the project. Wasn’t thinking when I took this on how many damn parts a snowmobile has..it will be an ‘89 Ski Doo Mach 1(had one in high school).
