I have a feeling that the Seattle Supercross may get cancelled. Several events have been cancelled already. With the vendor at Century Link Field getting diagnosed, I think it will only add to the reasons for the event to not be held. There was also two more deaths in Washington state.

Sounds like they're going ahead with the MLS game at CenturyLink tomorrow. What other events have they cancelled?
Wasn’t necessarily being exclusive to Century Link but, here’s some that’ve been cancelled or postponed in the area

A friend of mine was working at the facility where the first death in CA happened.

We had a case at my facility that they thought was corona, bit it came back negative.

Did they change something? I thought that the first US death was in WA, not CA.

It’s not a matter of walking on water. It was a real question. I believe that 2 deaths have been corrected and happened several days earlier than the first report of COVID-19 US death was announced, so there could have been another correction that made the actual first US death in CA rather than WA. That’s why I asked if something had changed.

The local paper mills can't make product fast enough practically. Delivered to Staples whse Thursday and the look on my buddies face when I walked in was "as soon as I get you unloaded it'll be gone". Heading to Indy Thursday morning hope Lucas Oil is cosy Saturday night ... BRRRRRAAAAP!

Folks.... those packages from China are sharing ALL of the same hands and equipment as domestic packages here in the US....if you think you're safer getting a package from the US...you are dead wrong. If a virus hitches a ride on the box from China...it's got what...9 days (current word on surface lifespan) it can possibly contaminate everything it touches.

Even without the current freakout....research the sh*t that goes thru the US Mail system.... Tell me you'll throw the mail on your dinner table again after you read what shares the conveyors/delivery system.

Lets be real here.

In person classes and meetings cancelled at the University of Washington. My son is a math PhD student there and fortunately he is able to finish the last week before finals teaching online, but he won’t be giving a final. His only responsibility as a student is meeting with his advisor and he can also do that via video, etc.

I was originally worried because of his trip to Singapore over Christmas break, but if he were going to have caught something it would have manifested itself quite a while ago.

Andris , are you saying 133 people died just today? If I read that right , man my thoughts go out to everyone over there. Am just waiting to hear news of it finally slowing down and getting under control , but reports like that seem to be flowing in the opposite direction.

One of my job sites is just up the road from the university. I noticed on Friday getting back to I-90 there was no traffic. It usually takes almost 20 minutes to get through that area. I was able to drive straight through. I knew something seemed off.

God that is terrible!! I think most anyone that's read my political stance on here , knows where I stand , but I don't personally see this as political thing , I see it as a human thing. I see one side dumbing it down , and one side blowing it out of proportion. It's stuff like this where we should all throw that aside and look after our fellow brother's and sister's. I sure hope to God we as a planet get this shit under control , because I don't see it as just another type of " Flu ". This thing is just warming up.

I think there’s more than 2 sides, though.......

And it’s obviously not the flu. It makes you wonder why those that claim that continue to do so.

Well , let's skip the political side of the conversation and just talk groups of people. I see three things happening.

1.) People who are oblivious and just brush it off
2.) People who see something bad going around and want to be more cautious than normal.
3.) People who are freaking out a bit and stocking up like doomsday is approaching.

A/B motives would be to wish for , or not wish for an economic crash. From everything I've seen and read , it seems to be mixed on sides blaming one side or another. I look at it this way.......If we had a major earthquake here , and people needed my help , the last thing I would think of , is their political views. No matter how far away from mine they are , it's a human being and I'd need to do anything and everything I could to protect them.

I guess my point is , I wish this upon nobody. I also ' feel " , this is about to get a whole lot worse. And I hope that I'm 100% wrong on that.

Costco reports inventory depletion.
Meanwhile, Von's is fully stocked with everything.
Funny how Costco was the media yard-marker.

Pullman is a great college town! I absolutely loved it there.

They've definitely improved the ability to fly in and out of their over the last 5-6 years, but back when I was a student you could only fly in there with those little, Buddy Holly killing type of airplanes.

Part of me wishes that one of my kids would have chosen WSU, but they all had some pretty good reasons for going where they did. And they all ended up closer to us than the drive to Pullman would have been. I also avoided having to revisit the scene of what could be thought of as many crimes in today's world...…!

What is your daughter planning to study?

She has an interest in Nursing and Teaching. I've seen her play "teacher" with her 3 year younger sister a while back. Whiteboard and all. They were about 8 and 5 at the time and I thought she was a natural. Grinning

I dont want to play it down, but from what i've heard coming out of Italy, The youngest person to die from Corona was 81 years old. Obviously thats still a tragedy but it also puts into perspective that the majority of the worlds population is low risk. Italy does have an aging population which could be why its become such a massive issue tehre.

The latest figure i've seen is that the amount of people who have recovered so far is higher then the amount of people currently affected.

Hopefully things start levelling out a bit because the financial implications on this could be seen for years.
