funny how "viral-ness" works in social media. That footage is about 6 months old or maybe more. Old news in the surfing world and was covered extensively, he also already won the XXL Award (largest wave ridden) for that one.

But i have seen it posted all over Instagram the last few days. A big mainstream account must have posted it and it spread from there. Just funny to see how that is, Crazy wave though

It is weird how it all works. He apparently surfed it back in November.

Like I mentioned I'm not into surfing but I'm guessing for the people that are in that scene this is old news. Not many waves around where I live a side from the wave pool in town lol.

That looks like Portugal maybe?

Speaking of big waves, check out the one @ 2:15. Probably not as big, but the angle...

Reminds me of that scene from Interstellar.

It's Nazaré in Portugal.
Another ridiculous break is Shipstern, such a filthy fucken wave. https://youtu.be/FBnA1V8SZdw
That wave is nuts, so is The Right.
That wave from Portugal is a massive face that isn’t as steep as many places. It is photographed from weird angles, still lots of water moving around.
My father was on the USS Columbus in the North Atlantic in the late 40’s. He was in a storm when a wave came over the bow and hit the main tower at the control area. I’m sure it was more pucker than height. Still is Amazing how those ships handle the whims of Ma Nature.
