Virtually all of the reports thus far say that he is requesting to be traded so that he can be the "focal point" of a team. That's pretty much the definition of seeking attention.

He's pretty "free" in Cleveland. LeBron is probably one of the least selfish top tier players in the last couple of decades and Irving's numbers most likely reflect that. He's definitely no Westbrook or Harden and I think any team that fulfills his need to have the attention focused on him (meaning he's the best player on the team) will struggle.

Irving is a very good player, obviously, and could compliment a team with great players, but if he's the main guy of your organization, Scottie Pippen would love to sell you a jet airplane........

Yeah, I wouldn't believe those "reports" too much. There is an aspect of that but way more than anything it's an issue with him not being able to fully play his game because everything is designed around Lebron. That and it is very evident the window in Cleveland has closed. He's been there a little while and most players move on about this time in their career. He a Pippen are pretty analogous except Pipen and Jordan's games really complimented each other and there was also Phil Jackson guiding everything. Lebron's and Kyrie's don't and there is no other leadership in the organization outside of Lebron.

Kyrie has a different kind of family / growing up dynamic. his mom died when he was three or so years old. He is extremely close to his dad who worked in the financial sector in New York. He wants to play / live in New York. If that doesn't work out he would be best suited for a team like the Spurs that has more depth in stars and role players.
