How things have changed. Now there are no Americans in European road racing the last one of note being Ben Spies. Sad

Glory days are over. And now no more Pikes Peak it would appear. Everybody's on a Harley these days.

The state of roadracing coverage sucks these days. I pay out the ass for cable, and can’t find any road racing. I haven’t watched the Daytona 200 in years, but wanted to check it out this spring. After weeding through a bunch of bs on the internet searching for coverage, I just gave up.

On another subject, does anyone remember an old GP race in the late 90’s or early 2000’s when Rossi was on a 125, maybe a 250, in second place, last lap, battling to get to the front? In the last moments he was all over the place, straightening out a chicane or S turns through the grass and dirt to take first place in the last seconds? I’ve searched for that and can’t find reference to it. It was a spot similar to the corkscrew at Laguna Seca I think, but probably somewhere in Europe.

That happened with Marquez and Rossi on the big bikes. Assen, 2015 I believe. Maybe 2014. Marquez tried to punt Rossi and VR just gassed it up on the dirt and roosted to the win.

VR and CS Laguna Seca 2008 (or was it 09)?

2008. Rossi dirt tracked off the top of the corkscrew & passed Stoner on the inside heading down the hill. Epic battle.

Anybody check out how MM93 took pole yesterday? Frick'n amazing. Hate it when one guy dominates but this guy earns it.

It's looking like the Marquez brothers are going to do another dual championship. Wonder if Honda will try to dump Jorge and bring the kid up next year?

Why wouldn't they ditch Jorge? As long as Marquez is the alien they're not going to develop a special bike for Jorge. And he's not helping them with the development of the bike.

I would, depends on the contract he's got. Last year Alex Marquez was looking like a fizzle but he seems to like the Triumph so guessing Honda is is working on a way to make a swap.

Why did they ever hire Jorge is the question? Why would anybody?

Those occasional bursts of brilliance seem to make people tolerate the other crap.

I definitely remember that one, also a great finish. But I also remember a similar finish long before then, when he was on smaller bikes, a 125 or 250. It was a long time ago, but I remember where I was when I saw it, and I moved out of there in 2000-01 timeframe. Anyway, maybe I’ll find it one day. While searching, found a video of Nicky Hayden giving Rossi a ride back to the pits when they were teammates, that was cool to see again. RIP Nicky

I remember when Nicky took the championship. Rossi went over to his trailer and congratulated Earl. He gave a statement saying if he had to lose he was glad it was to Nicky because he was a good person from a good family. From a guy who's had more than one feud with his competition it's saying something.

Still can't believe Nicky isn't with us anymore, sucks.

Johann Zarco leaves the Pumpkin fest, Jorge Lorenzo "stays" till the end of the contract in HRC and the whole rider market situation is a huge poop carousel.

What's up with that? Huh

Yeah it was good race, I was sure that Marc had it but Dovi wouldn’t give up.

First few laps had me fired up!

Marc was riding the wheels of that Honda.

I am impressed with the clinical approach Dovi takes to his racing, however he is just too inconsistent to really take it to MM over an entire championship.

KTM won't be in Moto2 next year but are doubling down on MotoGP. I hope Zarco gets a ride next year, back on a Yamaha maybe.

I'll probably get hammered for this but I think it's time for Rossi to hang it up. Amazing he's still a top 10 rider at his age but the only way he wins a race will be a fluke. I know he still fills the stands but I'd hate to see him get hurt and they need to free up a factory ride.

As a Zook fan i was so happy. But four years ago the win felt much much deserved and it was sudden strike. Cool

It was cool to see Guintoli enjoing the moment in parc ferme with Alex.
