Bloody spiders got bigger than a 600ml bottle.....
Wife found this phuquer cleaning the Christmas decorations away, and she shat her britches...

Kids loved it, but I put it in a jar and took it to town and, let it go.

Nope nope nope nope nope. You’re a good man for saving it’s life. I kill spiders on sight. I’ve been bitten way too many times. No attempt to identify what kind it is, no trial no judge no jury, just instant squish. That one would leave a mess

I just learned the other day that Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders were used as unpaid labour (Slaves) right up to 1960 in Australia. Thats almost 100 years after the US abolished slavery in 1865.

For some reason I imagine it catches birds and keeps the kangaroo population in check. I bet that thing can sprint pretty quick to.

Had an old man for a neighbor years ago who had a regularly foul mouth that would go off at anytime without warning. His expression for any decent sized spider was awful, but it got the point across. As he would say, "That thing is big enough to ass-fuck a Hen......."

No way could I live there... I think I'd love to visit Australia but living there would be a non starter with things like that running around. Even the spiders here in boring old predictable England are too much for me.

Completely harmless though!

In fact, better those and some daddy long legs than the rest of the buggers. Found a nest of redbacks in our front drain the other day, and the neighbours have a shyteload of funnel-webs. Glad our chickens are doing work!

So you took into town and let it go.....

outside of the busy little coffee shop where all the local old ladies and gents meet up socially for afternoon tea and such.
O'what fun me and the kids had hiding across the street watching the old folk scare them self shitless over a harmless spider.EvilUnsure

Well that just sounds kinda boring... or do you mean the unsafe storage sheds where they keep the venomous snakes, crocs and drop bears. CoolWhistling

Have you seen the praying mantis videos? Those things are vicious! There is one that it takes on a humming bird and a lizard.

Yes, scary! Any of those where they take out something like that is crazy!

One thing I like about Australia is that it seems off road intro videos are made there sooner than other places, or bike prep videos:

Luke Styke’s 2020 WR250F

I really like the AORC videos, too:

2020 AORC Round 3

back when i was a kid and still living in aus I used to play with them all the time.

I remember having a broken arm and I was playing with a hunstman and she decided to crawl inside the cast.
had fun trying to get her out without squishing her

(they are in Japan too (アシダカグモ), but they don't get as big here)

One time I was shitting in my boss' time (fun fact I used to make quik-shades, so it was in a factory) anyway I saw a newspaper sitting on the floor so I picked it up to see the local happenings and as everyone knows whatever your reading goes on your lap.. When I finished reading I took the paper off my lap..

Yep you guessed it, It must've been under the paper as there was one of these behemoths sittin patiently on my upper thigh haha! All self preservation went OUT the fucken window and took maybe 15 to 20 very violent swipes at a very tender area and pretty sure it fucked off as soon as it saw the first one comin!
Pretty lucky I was on the shitter as well

We have Daddy long legs in south Texas.
At some point in the year they are all balled up in a nest.
We used to make hats out of a hundred or so, and scare the girls.

Got my ass whooped more than once for that, but it was worth it.
