I purchased a nice Lenova 15.6", intel i5, 6gb of ram, 750gb hard rive laptop because I needed one for work to run a specific software.
I have a 13" Macbook Air at home.
It's just amazing how much better the Macbook Air is.
Here's a few key things.
Monitor:
The monitor on the Lenova is 15.6" and the Macbook 13" but they make stupid PC laptops so wide now that the up and down space is almost the same on both laptops. Obviously the Lenova is much wider. Kudos to Apple for realizing we don't need a widescreen monitor. It makes for crappy web browsing.
The monitor is far superior on the Macbook Air. It's brighter and crisper.
Keyboard
The keyboard is hard to type on the Lenova. It's kinda crunched together-mostly because of the number keypad on the right. They needed to use that space for the freaking unnecessary widescreen monitor. I keep hitting the number lock key instead of backspace.
The mouse trackpad
This is probably the biggest advantage Apple has over the PC Laptop. You can accomplish so much on the Apple trackpad it's just amazing. The Lenova has 2 finger scrolling but it's not fluid. You have to wait until the webpage loads completely to start using it. You can't double tap with two fingers to bring up a right click type option. It's also too far on the left side of the laptop even though it's centered with the keyboard itself. Makes it awkward to use. There's also no real multi-touch gestures even though they try.
The operating sytem
The Mac operating system is so much more fluid and powerful. When you go to Windows you realize how much a pain in the ass it really is to do what you want. Just the little things.
The Lenova PC laptop has 3 times the specs of my Macbook Air and runs 3 times poorly. It's just the nature of the Windows architecture.
I'm not hugely disappointed but I've been messing around with it all night and it is so much more difficult to get done what you need to on the PC compared to the Mac. Plus it's heavy as shit.
I am really surprised that people still use Windows as much as they do.
Just wanted to share.

Explain in detail what the "Windows Architecture" lacks that the OSX makes up for?
The Shop
Millions of people swear by Apple products. Are you jealous that you don't fit in with that crowd?? You seem a bit butthurt.
Why do you care what other people do with their money?
I am not a sheeple. I am basing it off personal experience not what Jobs or anybody else said or marketing. How is that so hard for you to understand. You just went way off on a rant.
I don't want to write a long article on how the operating system is better. Just personal experience with both operating systems. Mac makes it much easier to get done what you need to. You can do the same thing on both operating systems but it's just more fluid and easier with both the OS and the hardware.
Understand?
I think it is really a matter of what your used to as well. My cousin can't use a Mac because it is so unfamiliar to him.
Suck it Boyd
btw: did your shiny new MacBook come with a fancy fanny pack?
Mac vs PC is no different than Cole vs Pepsi and it is fun riling up either side.
I know Boyd knows im playing with him, now the rest of you dont get all butthurt
People are so ridiculous about this shit, they are both good OS's, use the one you prefer and move on. No need to shout to the world about how amazing your particular choice in OS is.
I really don't care what everybody is using and also think the PC vs Mac discussion is retarded but fun to read at times.
Just use what works best for you.
I just stated that I'm really impressed about my macbook still working like new after 5 years.
For some uses yes but I don't have that need.
As everything becomes cloud based the machine matters less and less.
I do laugh when people that do nothing but FB and e-mail proclaim how much better their Mac is than my Win 7 laptop.
Yes....money well spent to be sure.......lol.
The hardware and software work in beautiful synchronicity.
In all seriousness though I think why so many Apple people shout out loud about how great it is because after using Windows for so long and you jump to Mac you realize just how great the experience is. Most of it in the form of the hardware(such as design and trackpad). Also, the OS is very nice and fluid and the hardware and os work very well together.
It really is like a 4stroke vs 2stroke thread. You can also say Mac is like the Arai or Shoei of Helmets and Windows is your $100 helmet. haha

VM Ware is awesome to use as well. You just spread everything like you would normally between programs on a mac and select VM Ware and you're instantly in windows... I wish I had done this setup 3 years ago......
The only draw back is you gotta have a decent machine to run it. VM Ware will require at least 1 core and a min. of 512 ram for XP. I set mine to 2 GB bc my imac has 16gb now.
1 core and 2 gb of ram is more than enough for the little time I use windows..
I probably wouldn't get a Macbook Pro but rather another Macbok air. I am hoping they come out with a retina display on them. I prefer the light weight and the speedy flash storage. Plus it doesn't run hot on the bottom like the Macbook Pro's.
I heard Parallels works great as well for running Windows on a Mac without the need for a reboot.
I still am not sure what to do to be honest.
That is one of my fav things about computers, it is akin to working on your MX bike and tricking it out with killer parts Hell i have even made parts lists for people and they order them, and once they get everything ill guide them through the build process over the phone lol One time i did it with a kid who was only like 13yrs old!
Shitty pic (from phone), but here is my box:
That was the reason I told you to wait for the refresh. ;-)
All the rumors are leading toward of course the new processors plus retina style screens and more MacBook air slimness or at least a more powerful 15" Mac air.
Have you saw a 11" Mac air being displayed on the new iPad screen? The resolution is so good it only takes a 1/4 of the iPad to display the whole screen of the air. It is crazy!
