My son and his friends playing around. Watching him drop into the pool towards the end still freaks me out a little even though I know he makes it. Geez son no wonder you had knee surgery Blink

The 10 foot pool drop to flat was crazy insane. Kid has skills.

Damn, I was supposed to go pickup a half pipe from craigslist tomorrow. I had the trailer and a crew lined up and everything. Sounds like I wasn't fast enough, some dude went by today and is supposed to pick up tomorrow.

One of the few situations where I liked the b-side more than the actual video part. Andrew Reynolds is the man.

It's ridiculous how technical the sport has gotten. Your boy and his friends are very good.

Loved it. It was a classic. Some of the stuff in Koston's part people weren't able to do with any consistency for years after. My favorite part was McCrank's, though. Guy charges so hard wherever he skates. What did you think of it?

Another (semi) oldie, but goodie:

I loved it, probably one of my favorite videos. When it came out I watched it about 20 times and that was at 25 years old.

Thanks. The persistence of all the skaters in those videos amazes me. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with getting that one "Sick Trick" on video, but I'm pretty sure if I ate shit 13 times in a row trying to jump down a flight of stairs there wouldn't be attempts 14...15...16....17....... They keep going until they stick the trick or are too fucked up to keep trying. I hope that persistence carries over into their daily lives, if it does they'll go far cause dayum, talk about never giving up.Blink

The stuff skate kids are doing today is mind blowing. Skateboarding is fun, but requires a high tolerance for pain. I can't image what they do without pads.

Old school scateboards. I love them. I used to roll around on a buddy's half-pipe that his dad made in his backyard on one of them. I was never good enough to get above the coping and never successfully dropped in but I had a hell of a time pumping it to the top as high as I could.

Was that you in the sun hat in the video? I still skate, but I skate like an old man now. My boards reflect this.

Not me in the video. How old are you ? Are those 80's model's ? I'm 56, those are kind of new school to me hahaha. Seems like the kids nowadays like little itty bitty rock hard wheels, they look like the skateboard version of a vato lowrider haha. We were more into big soft suckers that rolled over rough shit and gripped good. Today it's about being able to bounce the fucker off the ground and make it fly, I don't even get how they do that shit, Ollie ? What ?.... I can do a 720 and a Bertleman turn, does that count ? Laughing

I'm 32, started skating in 88 or 89. Both of those boards are newer re-issues, (the Caballero is brand new). Don't get me started on wheels these days. I like big soft ones so I can roll smooth everywhere. The smaller hard wheels are what the kids are into for flip ticks and hard landings.

That was awesome.

I've always like skating and have a ton of respect for skaters. Has to be one of the most technical alternative sports ever.

Total coincidence that I just watched the Netflix movie on the skater guy from Philadelphia. I'd never heard of him before watching the movie, and still can't remember his name right now. AND I'm too lazy to go look it up. BUT he was pretty awesome.

Your boy there is really good from what I can tell.

Rippers. In high school I lived on an island that was only seven miles long and there was three 4-6' half pipes within feet of the the main road about three miles apart. Also lots of mini ramps under stilted beach houses and a sheet metal monster 10 footer not far off island. Lots of kids were good and quite a few went pro from our area. I was average at best and could not land an air on the bigger ramps but lip tricks were decent. I would ride my board from ramp to ramp to see who was hanging out but I was barefoot to many times. Great transportation too. Lol
