Not hearing good things about downrange weather at the moment. Won't be surprised if this gets scrubbed.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

This is pretty wild stuff - wishing them lots of luck & good fortune.

Void.....this looks like this may be happening today. I'm pretty pumped for SpaceX and the two astronauts if this does happen.

I believe it's going to be streamed live on YouTube? I saw a video earlier that was a live shot. It's about 3hrs away from now I think.

Looks like a good chance it gets delayed. Currently raining at the launch pad.

Bummer.
There are parts that I welded in both the rocket and the capsule. I was really looking forward to this.

This is good news actually. Now we get to watch this whole process twice! Maybe even 3 times! Smile

Hey Sleeve , I honestly think that's pretty badass to be honest. You actually helped make parts for this 1st trpe ever type of mission. There are some bragging rights in there some way , haha!

We are here and bummed it was scrubbed. Hopefully the Saturday launch goes to plan on Saturday as Sunday doesn’t work for us.

Here is some fun data from the trip down in our Model X 100D.

Distance: 728 miles

Energy used: 255 kWh

352 wH per mile average.

Time charging: 98 minutes (should have been 82 but our dinner took longer than our needed charge)

Average speed: 77 mph.

There was a lot of time spent in the 80 to 90 mph range to keep up with the flow of traffic.

We did a similar trip once before but carried two bikes on our hitch mounted bike rack. I don’t remember the specifics our wH was more in 385 range. I’m kinda surprised the rack causes a 10% hit to efficiency.

Yeah, that's the big chance you take when you go to a launch in person. I remember flying down with the family solely to see the shuttle launch. If it scrubbed we would have missed it. Bummed for you! On the bright side, hopefully the skies are clear enough on Saturday that you'll be able to track it most of the way to orbit.

This comment reminds me of were will all be, speaking a new language when it comes to Vehicles, Instead of MPG it will be KWH, WH charge time..ect
Looking forward to it. Drove my friends Tesla in "Crazy fast Mode" and it was a thrill for sure.
Was at Pikes Peak Hill Climb when the two heavy hitters had Electric cars and ripped off amazing time AND had issues Future looks good for transportation But all us Older peeps will still have our Muscle cars.

Just think, when Magnetism cars/roads comes into play. crazy

On my old POS car I would average 44mpg, could do 48+ if I really tried. Putting the mountain bike on the roof and I'd get like 36mpg. ~20% loss
Bikes seem to really disrupt the airflow even if they have a small area.

I was mainly surprised at the loss given my bike rack and bikes sit well below the roofline. I guess 10% isn’t bad all things considered.

I’m not going to lie, it hurt my head for a while trying to learn the terminology. Once I got though, it’s actually easier. It ultimately reminds me of using metric over standard.

Fun fact, Tesla likes to use MPH in their charging data with a different definition. The latest milestone is the Model 3 on a V3 (250kW) charger will charge at 1000 miles per hour. So instead of measuring speed, they are measuring distance added per hour during a charge.
