The Atlantic Salt I ordered came early. I just opened the package now. I will say the blade is high quality. The handle feels slightly thinner then the Endura.

How do you like the locking mechanism of that Benchmade?

I like the knife a lot but it doesn’t flip out buttery smooth like the SOG.

Honestly the locking mechanism on mine annoys the fuck out of me at times. It sticks, and sometimes when I’ve gotta flip it closed and pocket it quick it can be frustrating

Have you taken it apart and oiled/polished the locking area? All the benchmades I own/owned have had great axis lock mechanisms with a touch of oil.

940 has pretty much replaced the Riiter Grip and the para 3. Always thought they were goofy looking but man they carry well and the green and purple has really grown on me.

I want to say 30 years or so but I don't carry it as much as a few I have been through lately but it lives next to my garage chair. I told the story in a thread years ago about finding a sealed box on the road with a bunch of buck knives and miscellaneous brands when I was a small kid It started a good collection. Most in storage but soon I'm emying those and taking everything home. We had a big cedar clubhouse building and we had the baseball dart game on the side but with Gil hibdon throwing knives. I got really good at sticking them years ago. They have a midevil fair at the park across the street from my hood once in awhile and I can still stick a few.

I don't have to be as smart as you hope to be some day anymore. wink

I collect a lot of different things and automatic knifes and switch blades are one of my favorites. I don't spend a lot on the higher end ones anymore but still buy the less expensive ones that catch my eye. Now everyday carry knifes I spend more money per knife just for the quality. You guys have some nice knifes also by looking at your pics. cool

Leatherman Juice S2. Not sure it qualifies as a knife as it's really a multi-tool, but I feel lost without it. Unfortunately retired by Leatherman, so the last time I had to replace it, I had to go ebay. On my third one. Wired two rooms in my old house with this thing. Super versatile.

Kershaw Shallot. PhotoSeems to be perfect for me. Blade is much more rugged than the Leeks that I carried for a while. The Leek was so thin at the tip you could use it as a toothpick, and I always felt like I had to be careful with it.

Think I might try and build something like this. You can find these on Etsy for reasonable price.

I think it’ll work good for cleaning fish on the river.
I still kinda shocked it was only $45

Did you get from Spyderco directly or off Amazon or somewhere else?

Amazon. I usually browse the Spyderco catalog. Once I see something I want, I’ll look at Amazon and other online stores. Every knife you buy directly from Spyderco, is retail cost and more expensive.
