Ole Bug is a yearling now

In the round pen yesterday

He's a little fat on winter/spring grass but we will get that off soon enough in the round pen.

Kool , brings back memories . I worked for my uncle as a kid , he had a bunch of quarters . Ill never forget the time my dad drove me there in the middle of the night and i watched them free a colt that locked hips with the mum. My uncle ended the night with saying "glad we didn't have to cut that one up "

Yessir, its always best if you stay away from the knife.

The wifes black Arab is getting bred next wednesday to a Friesian. Been giving her 10cc's of RegU-Mate daily, gonna get inseminated to Bente D next week. We think its gonna be a good cross. This baby here outta be gorgeous and mega jet black.

Heres a few of the Arab from yesterday in the round pen also

This was her when we bought her 5 years ago, that filly was one scrawny weanling. LOL

This RegU-Mate stuff is lots easier to use than the SyncroMate-B I used to use with cattle! Certainly easier than the live-cover days.

I just put half a beef in my deep freezer three days ago...

Now my only problem is which part of her to eat first??? So many options...The Grill will be well used this weekend, that's for sure.

That's why I'll never be a horseman. I trust they'll always make me look like a fool.

Fortunately, not a lot of effort is required on their part to achieve this goal. Tongue

My pal terry has been a horseman for 40+ years. Last week a horse bit and tossed him 10 feet. He's damn near 60 and has one hell of a bite and bruise on his chest. That horse was almost dog food.

Fatso is all grown up now. The stinker got a cut just above his fetlock sunday so I had to wrap it up. Felicia gave the lil shit a good scratchin' with the apple picker and he clicks his teeth. Laughing

i grew up on horses. my parents got divorced when i was 10, the horses were sold as well as our house with 1/2 acre horse corral out back. dad went through his rebellious stage and got a dirt bike, then got me one, here we are 23 years later and i've yet to swing my leg over a horse since.

great pics, and great looking yearling (the lady isn't hard to look at either, well done)

edit... just noticed the "yearling" was 2 years ago, lol, anyhoo good looking horses!

Thanks guys, we had hopes he might turn out taller like his dad but hes a carbon copy of his momma. (as evidenced by the pics of him with her when he was a foal) Although he's Welsh, at first glance he looks Shetland. What he lacks in height he makes up for in smarts, the pony is mega smart. She's started him under saddle and eventually will start him driving.

These days he hangs out with our Buckskin. (We sold the bay gelding)

My mother showed quarter horses. I never got along too well with them. They'd see me coming and start whispering.

But I do appreciate a good looking one and you guys have got them.
