So the iPhone is no better than any other phone, huh?

http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/0806wdt546x/event/index.html

Watch that video, especially from minute 22 to minute 102, and tell me that the iPhone is no big deal and no better than any other phone

I know you won't watch it.

Anyone wanna know how good and capable an iPhone is?
Watch that video

I switched back to a Crackberry after having the 1st gen Iphone. Had too many technical issues with the Iphone--kind of like all the Ipods I've owned!!! That's a whole different thing though. Blackberry has it down good right now, IMHO. Kind of like a Jap bike verse a KTM back in the early 90's. The KTM were trick, but the platforms don't translate as easy with everything.

Mine was too, pretty much...but had email and international phone issues WAY too much. I loved it...gave it to my wife and she loves it. But the BB was more trouble free for the work I needed it for. I'm a 24/7 user of my BBerry and just found the Iphone wasn't made for that for what I needed it to do.

The camera, interface, and net browsing in the Iphone is light years ahead of the Berry, I'll give it that.

for all the whatever features, sure, it's nice. It's cool, you can do whatever... neat wow.

But, I have every feature I really "need" - most with 1 touch of a button (using textile senses, I dont even have to look at the phone at ALL)

And all my friends on 1 touch dial - again, no need to look.

Essentially, I can work all the features I need with out ever looking at the phone, and pressing 1 button.

I'd say that pretty much rocks.

Can you do ANY of that with the touch of one button? Oh... no... you can't...

but hey - you can watch youtube. Awesome!
Erm... well... so can I, but... yours is a bigger screen, go you!

*yawn*
I actually clicked it but didn't want to update my quicktime so I couldn't view it.

Can you do ANY of the 1 touch stuff I can without looking at your phone?
Didn't think so.

I'm watching it now... *sigh*

So , i guess I should find that video when the iphone had a presentation and invited all these business people.

And - all the business people said "yah, it's neat, cool idea, it's neat (like a toy), but I'll stick with my blackberry"

Because it didn't have what they needed. Now they're FINALLY Getting around to it. This was my main gripe from the beginning.
They released a SUBPAR product initially. they SHOULD'VE had this shit ready from the get-go. But they didn't start rollin on this shit until they realized "oh shit, people aren't digging it like we thought they would."

It's a neat phone for trendy folks... it's a cool toy.
It lacks features that my phone from 10 years ago had (many of them actually)

If quicktime (apple product, hey!)
wasn't such a shitbox... maybe. But I don't feel like waiting 10 hours for the video to download so I can watch some shit.

I saw the first 5 mins or so (well, listened really) - but just don't have time for your 5th grade antics.

I'm sorry Drama Queen.
Maybe you could throw it on a disk and mail it to me, so I can see how it STILL Doesn't have features my phones from 10 years ago had in spades.

It's a neat toy Dave, it really is, there are you happy yet?
Or are you like Matt and need more ego stroking?
Maybe you're just like premix, and don't like to talk about the facts, just want to point fingers elsewhere (like "you didn't watch the video")

You act as if it's Gods gift.
It's not. My phone has much more simple, easy to use features that I use every day (many times a day)

If I got that phone? It would be nothing but a nuisance and a hassle.

Hey, volcati went back to a blackberry - why don't you go jump his shit about it? God damn. A whole thread for all this drama over a phone that's been out how long? who gives a shit?!

The only thing that pisses me off about my iphone is that it is now obsolute and worth nothing since the 3g is coming out, but many companies release new product improvements every year so I'll deal with. I will probably wait until they come out with the tiny video camera on the front of the phone then you can have video conversations. That would be some cool shit and pretty revolutionary. That is my next guess and a lot of people thought they would have it on this one but I would imagine it would take a bunch of upgrades on AT&Ts part before that happened.

I'm glad you watched that Dave. It is pretty revolutionary phone. I don't have any desire to play games on the iphone but the games they showcased were pretty sweet and I can't wait for the app store to open up so I can download some cool apps. I also got my money back on spanningsync that I purchased before the keynote which allowed me to sync my iphone with google calender. Now with the mobileme service it will allow me to sync my iphone, calender, and have a web based service as well and it will all stay updated. I love their new interface for the .mac or me.com service. That was a long overdue overhaul of their .mac service and looks real nice.

I love Quicktime video, KTMboy. Maybe get a faster connection and it'd upload a little easier. It sure as fuck beats Windows Media Player by a mile.

As for the iPhone, I'll buy one as soon as my bank account lets me.

I love my iphone, but if you just need a cell to call home to the little lady it isn't for you.

I've had blackberrys, treos (windows and palm), and many many normal flip phones.

Nothing compares, flat out, hands down.

As soon as the new one comes out I'll buy it too. Great product.

Level, I wonder if (how) Gmail will work on MobileMe

Spinner, the new versions are half the price. You'll be able to get the 8GB iPhone for $199.
That's cheaper than many (most) cell phones on the market today

I love having all those trick phones in the marketplace. It makes the kinds of phones I like so inexpensive you can basically get them for free. If I talk into the mic on my phone and I can hear someone talking back on the speaker, that's acceptable performance to me.

Isn't that the truth. The only thing I do with a cell phone is talk on it like a telephone.

I have had my nano for years and it gets heavily used and abused. No problems to date.

Yea, you're a real computer guru there..
don't even know the difference between upload & download. I should listen to your choice in software... good idea.

I agree WMP sucks. I haven't used it in ages. But quicktime is equally as shitty.

I really don't know how you can knock quicktime.

It is by far and away the fastest and best looking video on the web for me. Flash video has improved quite a bit though. WMV and RP are atrocious.
