This happened so fast I missed the release completely. KTM dropped a bomb. A track only, custom frame, extremely limited built track day street bike. only 100 units made.

Highlights:
LC8 890cc twin motor, 128HP
140kg(308lbs)
MotoGP bodywork
Moto2 based frame

It sold out in 4 and a half minutes. With 25 of the lucky buyers getting to go to Jerez with their new bikes to ride and be instructed by Mika Kallio and Dani Pedrosa.

This is some stupidly cool shit

That's a fargin' rad motorcycle, right there. Is it eligible for any roadracing classes, or just a track-day thing? (I'm not very informed about roadrace.)

I'm not sure actually. It would definitely be able to race against the Litrebikes, but it would be down 70HP on them, probably still beat them on tighter tracks but you get onto big straights and you're done.

Didn't they have a thing where twins could run higher displacement? Maybe that bike could run with 600s?

Supersport is 750cc for twins in WSS and motoamerica. The bike is also under thr minnimum weight.

Cool collectors item, what was the price on it? Im assuming way less than the honda and ducati gp based bikes they sold.
Nvm about 40k

I like the bike and hopefully this translates to a prodcution bike soon, but the frame is made up with a majority of the 890 duke. All that aero is just sunk cost. And 38k for a twin.. It's a little dissapointing to someone who road races. But It looks sweet and it's an awesome project for KTM. I wonder if they are trying to bag some money to keep all their MotoGP riders lol.

Awesome machine but my question is why does KTM make these Motorcycles when there really isn't a class they can compete in head to head?

Are they just for track days or garage queens for rich guys? 🤔

If so seems to be a waste of a great bike, would luv to see them on the grid.

I do wish theyd built a V4 sportbike with an engine derived from the RC16 motor

Isn't the entire frame actually made by an outside company? I thought that the only difference between the KTM and the bike that that company already sells was the bodywork.

It is a Kramer with an updated fairing. Kramer and KTM work closely together. Attached pic of my Kramer with a 690 KTM motor.
