Far too much fun. Not sure why anyone would buy a race replica with these on the market. Feels lighter and a zillion times faster than my plated xr650r and you don't even need to lay down on it.

absolutely bonkers Woohoo

I got my Tuono 4 years ago, and I'm still quite thrilled with it, but the HyperMoTo looks nuts!
Congrats, have fun -

I sold my R1 to get a KTM Adventure, that was one of the best motorcycling decisions of my life.

The Adventure is ten times more practical and at least that much more fun.

I'd kill myself if I bought one of those. I wouldn't make it one week without laying it down on the street.

You should get a DRZ400SM. That way you can ride yellow all week!

Nice bike! When I was at Barber I went over to the Ducati tent and checked out some of the bikes, and I really had my eye on one of those. I love my R6 (and still hope to start doing trackdays while my leathers still sit in the closet collecting dust), but I can't ride the R6 very long. If I ride over 75-80 miles, my neck goes numb since my C5-6-7 are fused. Doesn't bother my bad lower back riding it, but riding in the leaned position and having to hold my head up to see the road puts too much strain on my neck. I bought the lil Ninja 250 so my kid can ride at track days, but I find myself taking it out on the road more than my R6 because you can sit more upright on it with the higher bar position.
When I sat on the bikes like yours at the Ducati setup, I was thinking, "Damn, this is the bike I should have got. Would have been great for the street but still awesome for track days." If I wouldn't take such a hit on the $$$ I'd get one right now - but I did the zero down - $99/mo. deal on my R6 so I'm too upside down on it to sell it right now. But I see one of those Duc's in my future!

What's one of those Ducs cost, if you don't mind my asking?

MSRP is 11,999+500 setup for the reg and $13,999 for the "s" version. Cost me $10,999 plus tax. They through in a free ducati track day too. Never have set foot on a paved track so it should be a cool experience. Price is Steep, but I felt it was worth it, quality on the italian bikes makes jap stuff look like chinese junk. Pretty much as trick as you can make it right off the floor. Dealer sold three hypermotards on the morning I bought mine. I really wish Suzuki would spin something off the SV motors like this. Aprillia has the dorsoduro which looks pretty sweet, but the dealers have no idea when they are getting here.

I never had an interest in the ducatis, just really liked the bike and thats why I bought it. Most ducati people seem like harley people in their snobiness.

All my buddies have race replicas, which you can find cheap. I just find them completely uncomfortable and pretty useless unless you are doing over 100. I have a plated 650r that I love, it is just a little too uncomfortable for long rides and daily commuting. Kind of started to feel down on power the more I road the pavement. It all could be fixed but I did not feel like it was worth dumping money into. Need something with a key, comfortable seat and electric start. Going to keep it and put dirt tires back on it so I can go tear up fire roads.

I originally was just going to weight for the new KTM 690's but there are few in the country and the dealers seem to be charging far too much. A little more and I could have the duc, which I felt was far better performance and looks wise.

Hypermotard feels about the same weight as the XR with ergo's very similar to my RM250. Feels like you are sitting right on top of the front wheel. probably about the same size too, amazing how small of a bike they can squezze an 1100 in. The KTM 990 sumo was parked next to it and that thing is a monster in size comparision.

Crazy torque to lift that front wheel too. I've never ridden another street v twin to compare it too, but the salesman was saying it hit as hard as the 1098's. I believe him. I think it has like 90 ftlb's of torque and 100 hp. Probably could out run a race replica in anything but a straight line.
