I don't know what's worse, the guy crashing in the final corner while leading or wheldon's team carying on like he dominated the race.

The kid did good on 199 & 3/4 laps, making one mistake aint too bad for a rookie.

Great effort JR.

That was a crazy finish ,,,

He had it won, then lost it with one corner ouch,,,,
And then Dan Welden, was the winner, and he was like thank you very much,,ill take it,,,

I wat ched the last two laps, with the mrs and middle son, after the race i told my son, watch he will drink milk, and he looks at me wierd and says what? so i explained it, an old tradition,, at that race.

Hopefully me and the mrs will go to the Indy 500 someday,,, its on my bucket list ,,,Laughing Whistling

Goodness, can you imagine living with that the rest of your life?

Was hoping he could have closed the deal for his sponsor on this Memorial weekend.
good show though.

Major bummer for JR, he didn't want to let off and let Weldon catch him and lose that way, just a rookie mistake trying to push to hard and got up in the marbles. At least he slid across in 2nd place so that will take away some of the sting. Good race though. The two by two restarts made the race more exciting also than single file restarts.

JR's team failed him, they should have been more on top of how far behind Welden was. He had time to check up.

The finish is still under review as this moment, the yellow came out prior to Wheldon crossing the line and they are determining if it came out before he passed JR.

Just adding a bit to the drama......

The re-start at lap 156 was freakin nuts.

Looks like Indy is following Nascars lead by implementing side by side restarts.

And ya lap 156 restart by that camera view looked insane, cars scattering everywhere.

He should have kept it pinned after he hit the wall. That will haunt him the rest of his life.

Looked to me like he was lapping a much slower car, wanted to leave a lot of room to make sure he didn't make contact because he was approaching him so fast, got just a tad out of the groove into the marbles and straight up into the wall. What a terrible thing for a young guy.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today, his spotter shoulda already told him where everyone else was so he would have info to make the right decision.

If JD never wins the Indy 500, he's going to have nightmares about today until his last breath.
