So I know some of you will be on the golf course, weather permitting, and the new rule is that you can leave the pin in. While there are studies that show it helps I'm not sure if I'll get used to it.

Ice Golf tourney next Sat so at least there's a glimmer of hope for spring to get here soon.

Woke up to this Saturday morning and the next storm is coming in tonight and lasting until Wednesday morning. Probably not going to be golf season for just a little while longer here....

The rule change was intended to speed up play. It may do that on the pro tour but I am already getting frustrated with this rule change. It slows down play in my world.
The caddie standing in your line rule has already caused some issues,
The rule about estimating the original position of the ball is a good change. The old rule unfairly fucked Tiger over in a tournament.
Other changes about a ball moving are good too. The old rules were not really fair.

My group, (about 15 guys) are sticklers for most rules. Unless we decide on lift clean and place, no bumping your ball around with the club unless it's next to a root or something dangerous. We putt everything outside of 12" unless you're laying 7 on a par 4 and on the brink of going home and beating your dog.

When it snows like it did this past week over on that side of the mountains, those guys are phucked.

Too many cars, too few plows, and nowhere to plow the snow anyway. I feel for them! We get enough snow that plenty of folks have their own snowplow on their pickups. You hardly ever see that in Western Washington.

The biggest problem we had this weekend was drifting snow. I82 near Tri Cities closed due to accidents and there were 200-300 cars trapped because accidents bookended them between exits. That would have royally sucked.

We were supposed to get 1-2 inches yesterday, well they were only off by about 8inches ... it stopped about 10am for 30min... it's 12:05 am (Monday) and hasn't stopped yet.
Lookin forward to the 9 hole scramble tourney on Saturday, good event on a small lake south of here.
