Woke up to 1.5 inches of ice this morning. They're calling for at least another inch more today...high of 26.

Just missed us here yet people are still driving like idiots.
Prius's are the worst. People who drive a Prius automatically lose 50 IQ points as soon as they turn on the ignition.

It's quality...not quantity. At least that's what I keep telling myself...

We don't have that much but we were coverd by noon yesterday. We are going to have sleet and light snow today which covers the ice and make it a little less slick.

We have 1/2" to 1" ice in NWA. This is the first time in 10 years living here that the company closed the big offices for the day.

Even worse is the state and city's putting down sand/clay mix. It's a waste of time and leaves the streets a real mess in the spring when the rains start. Plow the damn roads and throw down some salt, that's all I'm asking for!

Tim,
How bad is it up there? Tontitown/Springdale area is like a disaster movie. Trees down everywhere, highways and streets closed, its unbelievable all the ice that's accumulated here. My parents had a tree fall on a gas meter, so they had to call the fire department and gas company. Dad says their neighborhood has lost a bunch of fences due to tree falls.

I'll take snow any day over this bullshit.

We lost power here at my apartment for about 3 hours, but its back up.....for now.

Hey Chuck! It’s pretty bad, I just hobbled out to the garage a few minutes ago to open the door & check things out. It looks like there is an inch plus of ice on the ground and everything else. Being busted up at the moment and walking with a cain, I’m not taking a chance to walk out and check anything out. The trees are all bent over and I saw a number of downed ones earlier when I came home from the office. The local news says these is the worst ice storm ever for the area and upwards of over 43,000 households are all ready without power. Yup, I would rather see snow then this BS also.

Holy Shit!!! It just keeps coming!!!

We are already a Federal Disaster area... We have been out of power since 10:00am and they said it could be 7 - 14 days!!!!

I'm at my brother inlaws business as he has a VERY large generator.

I had to get all my buffalo in a pen, the branches were falling faster then you could count. I every 8 to 10 seconds!!! I'd say that we've had 4-6 inches of ice. I'm worried about tonight. The wind has picked up (NOT GOOD) and it's supposed to be 18 degrees with a chance of 2 inches of snow.

I don't care about my house, but my business is going to suffer. My customers expect next day service, hell, I don't know when I'll have power, let alone UPS and FedEx...

I've took some pictures and will post them when possible.

As of now, I'll continue to drink the night away. Sleeping on the floor of one of his conference rooms isn't my idea of a fun night...

I was in your shoes 2 years ago. One week without power because of an ice storm. I have a 6500 watt generator if you want to borrow it for the house.

I also have a couple of small propane heaters (Mr Buddy) and a couple full gas grill bottles to run them if you don't have gas heat. Might be just enough to keep the pipes from freezing.

Thanks man! I've got a 6500 watt one myself. Like I said...I'm not worried about the house...I can get by. Heck, I could hook the genny up to the camper and make it just fine. For some reason, pissed off customers don't understand though... Dizzy I know it will be warmer by Thursday...it'll just be how fast the electric company can get lines run. They have already said that they aren't even going to start until the weather gets better. On a brighter side...the kids are happy with no school...Wink

I wired a 220 receptacle into my circuit breaker panel (backfed my dryer circuit) and have a long cord that I plug between it and my generator and it will power my entire house. I have electric heat and it's obviously not enough to run that so I have to kick those breakers off along with the master when I run it but it sure is nice having power to everything else. I need gas heat bad...
