The only saving grace is its happening in low population areas. However, the reason for the sparse population is because of all the farm and cattle land. It will devastate many people financially.

Here are some photos from where I live. Temperatures of 90-100 degree, no rain for six months, and you have a tinderbox. These were taken last Thursday and the fires are still burning and getting bigger: Closing in on half of a million acres, so far:

Sorry to hear about a moto brother losng everything.
Lots of stories like Mr X said above, people and animals just get surrounded before they know it. They are still going and growing. Hug your loved ones.
We have a history of large wildfires in our area and north of us, and it's definitely a low population area as well. It doesn't seem to take very long for firefighters to be shipped in from all over the country, and oftentimes even from the Southern Hemisphere!
Hopefully there won't be more loss of life or homes. I definitely feel for the folks impacted.
