What a great story. We've been watching Josh Hamilton down here this year and I really do think he is completely genuine. He's been amazing. 95 RBIs at the break! Nobody cares that he didn't end up with the dumbass HR derby trophy. Especially him. Two miles of hits in the first round is 'nuff said. Brings his 71YO high school coach to pitch to him in Yankee Stadium. Wow.

I predict he won't hit another home run the rest of the year.

Hamilton is the real deal, a visiting player getting cheered in that s-hole of a stadium is a feat in itself.

Its amazing when you think how much baseball he missed from his drug issues. 4 years without playing too bad he is on the Rangers who will not be winning their division.

I dunno, it's called the wild west for a reason. Plenty of games with oak and Texas before the angels can call it a win.

Hamilton's from Raleigh (an hour from where I live) so I have been following his story and it's simply amazing. We've had some great major leagers from here ( Jerry Narron-Goldsboro, and Trott Nixon from Wilmington) but this kid blows both of them away

I was hoping he would win it but he looked tired in the finals. Unfortunately, I missed his first round display.

I say the guy that hits the most should win. Period. Resetting and then having a 'hit off' is really bush league. Hamilton hit 35 (and quit after 3 outs in the second round), Morneau hit 22 using all of his chances. And the guy with 22 takes home the (meaningless) trophy?

We may not win the west, but I was at the Angels game last week that Josh hit the walk-off homer off of K Rod. That was sweet. How many runs did we score off of vaunted Angel pitching in that series?

Yeah, Rodriguez can't save 'em all this year.

I do notice that Seattle has ensured that Texas won't won't end up in the cellar...

Texas played the Angels tight last week. I went to OAK this past weekend, it was amazing to see Santana dominate like that.

As an Angels fan I'm much more concerned with Texas rather than Oakland.

I'm more concerned with Oakland. They usually have a good stretch in August.

Although trading away Harden & Gaudin seemed an awful like throwing in the towel, the A's play tough.

Winning the Division shouldn't be the problem...Defeating Boston will likely be...
