Carne asada pork loin chops, jerk and red pepper boneless thighs, Earl Campbell smoked sausage. The smoker was a little warm when I started but she's settled down to 195 now. Some spruced up baked taters and okra for sides. You guys are hard to keep up with.

So, what did you cook your wife for dinner tonight?

Ribeye (lean from the middle) steak salad and cast iron skillet crab cakes here. Canti Moscata

Me, ribeye (not lean from the center!) no salad and crab cakes. Strong margarita on the side.

They were frozen from the local grocery store. There is a place in Galveston that has some killer crab cakes. Need to head back for some of those.

I like to keep it simple nothing fancy but still taste good.
Chicken soup when you have a cough.

I like the thin pork chops verse the thick ones which can be dry if you grill them wrong.

When we were up at the cabin there's nothing better then grillin in the woods

Went to Millers in Galveston last off set and had the red snapper over their corn stuffing - highly recommended! I was so hungry I ate some before I took a pic.

Edit to add - I know this isn’t home cooking but I had to share

Busy week, needed some rocket fuel to get the day started. Since I don’t do coffee a nearly frozen Red Bull in a chilled glass does the trick for me. Applewood bacon and fried egg breakfast burrito with some amazing salsa on it.

Lmfao. Brother, I'm a barely upright cave man...if a recipe is required...I'm screwed. I select a dead critter and from experience I decide if it needs a hot fire or slow cook. I sniff a bunch of herbs and spices and decide what might make the critter taste good. When I hear about an ingredient that might be tasty...I give it a try. Lamb is not that common around here but I spotted a good sized boneless roast the other day. I don't have any experience with the wooly buggers but I sniffed out some stuff and tossed it on a 350f smoker. What a winner. It'll be on my "go to" rotation for sure.

Taking care of Pops for a few days and we put some tri-tip in a crock pot with a green chili recipe we learned from whyz's wife. Smile
One of the roasts removed here.

Turned out very tender and tasty.

I always love going home to the house I grew up in and taking in the sunset overlooking Glendale. So many memories...... Cool

Roasted two chickens in the oven tonight. Used some dry rub BBQ seasoning on the chickens. Threw in some onions and potatoes seasoned with Lowery’s seasoning salt. Towards the end drizzled everything with some butter. Turned out great. I make this mean about once or twice a month when chicken goes on sale. Can get a whole chicken for about three dollars. I cook two at a time and will have leftovers for a few days. Cooking whole chickens is one of my favorite things. I love when I can feed the family on $10 or less. Combined with the chicken when it’s on sale I can feed our family of six for only $5.00.

Used some of that leftover roasted chicken to make pretty killer lettuce wraps with jack cheese, pickles, and a habanero hot sauce. Yum!

Sorry no pics but I bought a propane fish/turkey fryer at Menards yesterday. Fat cod and rock fish fillets in traditional English beer batter last night...unfrikkin believable. Tonight was chicken breast fillets in a Cajun batter I whipped up....another winner. Gonna try some wings, fried pickles, and fried cheese curds tomorrow. It's like the fair all year long. My arteries will scream but my tongue is patting me on the back.

You are a Kansas boy...do you go to the fair at Hutch? We get there every year and are first customers at the cheese curd vendor. My favorite.
