Season 3 was announced and like the previous two seasons it will have 8 episodes.

Season 3 will see detectives investigating a grisly crime involving 2 missing children in the heart of the Ozarks. The third season will star Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Remy Danton on House of Cards), Stephen Dorff (Blade), and Carmen Ejogo (Selma).

Premieres on January 13, 2019.

It's going to be hard to top season 1. Season 2 was a bit of a disappointment for me.

They're trying to get back to the style of season one since season two got so much flake. Two main detectives, case involving children in an eerie area, partner car rides/talks with probably one character spouting some philosophy, and season three covers three different time periods.

Season one is for me the best series of all time. Rust is my favorite character with Mike in Breaking bad. Life is a flat cyrcle Silly

Season 1 episode 4 was probably the best thing I’ve ever seen on television

I thought Season 2 was just as good as Season 1. Not sure why it gets knocked. The shootout when Rachel McAdams leads the raid on a gang hideout was epic action film-making. Felt like the whole series had a foreboding sense of doom as the end approached.

I actually thought the end villain from Season 1 was a bit of a letdown.

I recently rewatched both seasons thanks to this thread. I didn’t think season 2 was great the first time around, but watching it again I’ve conpletely changed my mind. It’s even better than season 1 in some ways. What a terrific show, I’m really hoping season 3 holds up but they’ve set the bar so high it’s going to be tough.

The problem with season 2 is it wasn’t long enough to really exploit all 4 of the main characters, they could have made two seasons out of that cast.

Killer song from Season 2 as well - My Least Favorite Life - Lera Lynn -

https://youtu.be/wbKJt1NQtZE?list=RDwbKJt1NQtZE

A cheerful song for a cheerful couple! Cool

Let the link play thru, it goes into the shootout scene next. Note how they build up the audio track with car alarms, heartbeats, breathing, random sounds for total sensory overload. Great work.

I enjoyed the first two episodes. The kids uncle is a creep but I'm not sure it's him.

Love the old school, cops take justice in their own hands approach. They don't fuck around.

Liking it so far. The problem is it’s tough to appreciate how good it is because after the first two I’m expecting nothing less than pure greatness. So far it’s holding up well, I’m hooked.

Just started ep.1, was going to wait so i could binge the whole season at once, but i got impatient Dizzy I love how dramatic the filming is, as far as cam angles and the whole setting, really intense. I didnt care so much for season 2, but loved S1.

Thats one thing i love about NetFlix, releasing the whole series at one time,

If you only seen season one don't read below *SPOILER ALERT*

Anyone else notice that all three seasons have that creepy head gear/ stick figure type thing in common.
First season had the stick figures and the dudes killing the little girl on the tape had animal head masks on,

Then in season two Colin Farrell goes to the house and gets shot the wall and the gunman had the same masks on. Now in season three the creepy stick dolls are around. (I'm only on part two of season three)
Think all the season's may be connected to the "Higher ups" from season one that didn't get caught? They were killing each other because evidence got out from Rustin "Rust" Cohle going on his home invasion deal.

Remember Matthew McConaughey saying "They didn't get them all", Woody saying "We got ours"

Or maybe the writers are stuck on creepy head gear and stick dollsBlink
Anyways the show is great, season one was cool
Miss the Philosophy of Pessimism clips at the end.

LYRICS in this are out there as the season was, 1:48 "When the last light warms the rocks and the rattlesnakes unfold, mountain cats will come, to drag away your bones"
good tune

Just want to make sure. Didn't want to spoil anything.

There's 2 things I'm still trying to make sense of.

1- The peep hole in the closet. I thought it might have been the creepy uncle but he's dead now and signs are pointing to a black man with a dead eye.

2- I didn't rewatch the episode but when Detective Hays is in his older years, you see his dead/younger wife enter his office and she mentions something about him in the woods and how they don't know what he did or something along those lines.

Anyone know what she's talking about or hinting at? Anything to do with some of the toys he found?

Good question, that's why I miss the Philosophy of Pessimism clips at the end like in season one.

Watched some last night. I had a lot of trouble understanding Hays. I had to turn the volume way up and it was still hard to understand what he was saying. Too bad, it looks like a good series.

Never caught on the creepy doll thing... interesting.

The peep hole gets me as well. I’m thinking the dad had something to do with it.

I don't have a problem understating him but if you are try turning on closed captioning to help you follow along.

Show is great so far.
