I see Matt, the drummer, at my job a lot. Super nice and seemingly normal dude.

Is that Izzy Stradlin at stage right, or did they get someone that looks like him?

I saw Gun's in 1987 and 1991. With that said I wouldn't spend a nickel on this cash grab. Go and get Steven involved and I might think about going.

I was wondering that, too. I thought I read somewhere that he wasn't going to be doing this tour because Axel's a douche, or something like that.

This was the Troubadour lineup according to Rolling Stone "...Axl, Slash and Duff McKagan were joined by keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and new keyboardist Melissa Reese."

How much are people willing to pay to see Axl lip syncing ?

Last I heard Axle live was at the palace of auburn hills in 05 I think. He sounded really good. Remember those silly dread locks he had! He was touring with skid row. Sabastian Bach still had it too. They did a couple songs together which kicked ass. Pretty cool concert but would have been way better with the original line up. You'd think gnr would pull a bigger venue than what they played at in the video. Cool non the less.

I had tickets in 1988 for GnR opening for Alice Cooper, but I had a wrestling match the night of the concert. I was a co-captain so I couldn't very well skip out. Paid $12 per ticket and ended up selling for $10. Never had the chance to see them since then. Not willing to travel to Vegas to see them but if they add Salt Lake to the tour I'll go.

Saw GNR last night in Indianapolis. I am here for work staying in a hotel that overlooks Lucas Oil Stadium and about 5:30 last night I noticed that the parking lot was starting to fill up. I looked on my phone and saw that GNR was playing and that tickets were still available. I bought a $26 floor seat ticket and rode a BIRD scooter over to the stadium to check out the show.

I didnt know most of the songs he played and neither did most people I was near as he played a lot of newer stuff. The strange thing was that Axel took lots of breaks. He would leave the stage half way through a song and be gone for 10 minutes while Slash played a long guitar riff. He had a little booth off the side of the stage and he would go in there and come back out with a different t-shirt on each time. People seemed confused. He struggled with his voice a lot. He would go for a high note and it just wasnt there. The place lit up when he sang Sweet Child O Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, and November Rain. I left before it was over to get a jump on the crowd. The show was ok. It wasn't anything to write home about but Im glad I went as GNR was a big part of my childhood.

I managed to see GnR 3 times over the years, 1st time was with the original line up except for Steve Adler. They were very good but I wasn't overly impressed with Slash.

The 2nd time was at a festival they were late coming on and Buckethead was playing, he was excellent. The 3rd time the band was ace, I think Richard Fortus and Robin Finck were the guitarists with Axl that night, great show.

I also saw Axl with AC/DC and he did a great job with them. For me Axls performances have always been good, his tendency to be late and show some contempt for the fans was always an annoyance. The AC/DC guys didn't seem to allow any of that bullshit.

Ac dc management got on him big time.they told him no starting the shows late, etc. Axl has stage fright that’s why shows start late. Sometimes a limo driver will leave the arena with him and drive around. When he gets his act together the driver drops him off again.

I suppose that explanation would fit, but I've read Slash's autobiography and I don't remember him mentioning that as an reason, I'm pretty sure he says the late starts are all down to Axl though.

I seem to think that the 2002 festival show with the Buckethead line-up I saw was the first show in years. At some point in proceedings, my memory suggests it was right after the opener Welcome to the Jungle, the lights go down, the stage is in complete darkness the crowd are going mental and Axl says "you like that Bucket?, Eh? you like that?". Made me laugh like fuck, funny what you remember.
