I just picked up an SE PRS, 2 shows in, it's becoming my favorite guitar to play live, lightweight, versatile, and can sound shimmery or huge. Here are the guitars I normally rotate in and out of live shows
American Tele, mini humbucker in the neck, ES 137 custom, les paul studio, PRS SE custom 22, danelectro baritone, home made guitar with wood and parts from a barn on the family farm (Fralin p90s), and a Korean Ash strat with a hot rail in the bridge.
I NO A KID THATS DAD GOTS A AUTOGRAFED GUITAR FORM THE GUYS IN DANGEROUS TOYS A BAND THATS FORM TEXAS THEY HAVE THE SONG ABOUT THE GUY THAT LIKES BEING SCARED AND THE BIG SCREEMS AT THE END
Nothing too special. Have a 2011 (?) Les Paul Traditional, mostly stock besides humbucker covers, knob pointers and a different stopbar. Also have a pieced together frankenStrat that started out with a Kenny Wayne Shepherd signature body, a neck from my first guitar (Mexican Squier Strat), random new hardware, and I can't remember what pickups I threw in it at the moment.
Also have a 4x12 Marshall cab, a Marshall Class 5, a Silvertone 10xl all tube amp, and a Yamaha THR-10. None of them get used even remotely enough. Also made a Dallas Rangemaster pedal clone at one point (a friend etched the circuit board and I assembled it).
Ok maybe a little embarrassing here but I bought a first act guitar and amp awhile back because I liked the body style of the guitar and was hoping to get back into it. In my younger days I had a Fender Strat and a Rickenbacker 4001 bass and played in a garage band . We played out once in awhile. Recently I've gotten together with a few guys and we've been jamming a bit for fun and it's been good...playing some classic rock stuff.
This guitar really isn't that bad but if I keep at it I will upgrade soon.
I have had one of these trick gee-tars for well over 30 years, never learned to play it though, but she sure is pretty! Been wanting to ebay it. Sad for it to just sit in the case all these years.

The Black Les Paul in my pic is a '72 re issue of the '54 Les Paul Custom. It's also called the fretless wonder. I'm guessing the '53 you played was similar. And no, no other guitar plays like one of those.

How much you want for it? I have a Steinberger just like that and it's one of my favorite electrics.

It's a 137, maple body with a mahogany center block, basically just a bigger, fatter sounding les paul! Plays and sounds absolutely fantastic but weighs a ton
Just picked this up...

Was on the guitar bucket list for far too long.
Just picked this up...
Was on the guitar bucket list for far too long.
I had a Tak guitar that looked just like that (don’t think it had the cut away) and got drunk one night and tried to be a rock star and smashed it on the cement. It was a 1500 guitar and my friend tried to stop me but it was too late. I just wanted to know what it felt like to smash a guitar. It didn’t feel like anything special.

Have an old generic fender from a pawn shop buried somewhere that never worked well. Going to rebuild it soon for fun. I have an old Montaya acoustic left to me by my godfather that I learned on and play regularly in standard tuning. Then I have a mid level Yamaha acoustic I play the most tuned to c#. I have these two guitars are on each side of my lounge chair in my office er I mean garage. Have a Jackson sl soloist and Crate 50, mini Fender practice amp and a Line6 I just got from my daughter for bday as well as a Martin composite acoustic electric. A friend gave me an old nameless cheap bass years ago. Good times.
I have a mid-level Yamaha acoustic and a Hamer Centaura like the one in the 1st photo. Someday, hopefully far into the future, I'll inherit my dad's old Martin acoustic and his sweet late Gibson ES125 F-cut (something like seen below).
Do I win something for having the crappiest collection? The only guitar of any value is my RG450M with Dimarzio pickups. That thing has amazing tone. Only guitar I use to record with.

Will add descriptions later. Someone just walked in the door.

So instead of putting it aside I did the logical thing and bought the dream guitar.
Granted it'll never sound as good as the acoustic I got 15 years ago that I traded a half bottle of wine and $3 for I'm sure it'll get close.

This guy has the studio version down, including the down bends.

It's fed by a Gallien-Krueger preamp from the '90s. Oh yeah.
