Motodrive had an "Action Photography" forum. I'm constantly trying to get an opinion on my video and suggestions on how to make it better. Anyway, seems like these threads get lost, they could be more helpful if they were all grouped together.
As I've learned, GoPro's stock settings are horrid. Fifty days ago, this is what my video looked like:

As I've stated before, I'm no expert and not trying to reinvent the wheel. Been taking my setting's directly from Loam Ranger MTB on YouTube:

The off the bike sequences are me having totally switched to his settings. 4K is incredible. This is my latest effort and best job of editing so far if I do say so myself. Took 2 1/2 hours of video to make 2 1/2 minutes.

Here are the exact settings I'm using:
4K
24FPS
Superview
Hypersmooth Boost
Zoom 1.0X
Bit Rate High
Shutter Auto
EV Comp -1.0
White Balance 5500K
ISO min 100
ISO max 3200
Sharpness Medium
Color Flat
Raw Audio High
Wind OFF

On YT there is a guy who makes really good videos on GoPro set-ups for making awesome videos. Will be applying some of this going fwd. And he only uses a Hero 4.
He also used 4k 24fps like you suggested

Edit: I see now you actually used his settings and referred to it in the video😅🤦🏻♂️
Just bought the 8 though, so still trying out a few things. Did a timelaps of the sunrise this morning, ran out of battery a little too soon though. Will check it out to see if it is worth keeping.
Will try actionfootage later next week. Did his settings work well for your 8?
That's my next question, how much zoom can be used before it starts blowing out the 4k and making it look grainy?
Excited to get some bull riding footage with it now. Got some ideas.
