Went to the Generation Axe show in Anaheim on Thursday. Got to talk to the guys before the show. They were all nice enough but I gotta say Zakk was such a nice down to earth guy. Seemed genuinely glad that fans were there. As far as the show, two things: 1. Zakk did a rendition of War Pigs (a song I previously didn't like) that was so captivating it won me over. At one point he and Vai and Nunno were standing on the chairs next to me as they wailed. Should have taken my phone along. 2. Nobody and I mean nobody makes a connection to the audience like Vai. Just astonishing. I had gotten there way early and was walking my dog (yea I took my dog with me) and I heard music so I walked to the back and I could hear Yngwie doing his sound check. That was pretty cool to hear him being a bit more natural.
Most anytime I hear that song it's like going back in time. Off Black Sabbath's greatest album, imo.

And yeah, it can be kinda hard to listen to. For a lot of reasons. Some of the most powerful vids use it as a soundtrack. Like this one. 73 I had to sign up for the draft, which I did. You did it at the local Post Office. If they called, I was gonna go. They picked guys in a lottery according to when you were born. They got to within 3 birthdays from me. I lucked out.
They were crazy times. I had 2 friends not make it thru. The college scene, that was Kent State, where the Government shot and killed students. Nixon was actually run out of office. Every night on the 6 olock news it was
like a highlight reel of blood and guts from the battlefield. There was so much violence, we as a nation were so divided, LBJ was so vilified, he didn't even try getting re-elected.
Kinda like the Kavanagh thing, times 100.
Yeah, a great song, off a great album, and a good cover, but still, kinda hard to listen to.
