It’s been a rough couple of months dealing with stomach problems to say the least. I’ve had insane nausea and upper stomach Pain and was told by the GI Doctor that I have gastritis or stomach lining inflammation. I’m just wondering if anyone else in here has had experience with this and if so what did you do to heal your stomach? I’ve been trying to eat very boring and bland (No coffee, fried foods etc.) but it’s very hard as you can imagine, I’m open to suggestions if it will help me get back to riding and normal life as soon as possible.

Wife's been dealing with it for a few months now. Pepcid helps her a little as well as the bland diet unfortunately.

Edit: and decreased stress levels

I hate to hear anybody sick, its not fun. Hope you get better.

My wife has been really bad sick too. She has something wrong with with her stomach, intestins. Had her to see two specialist. Really hard to get in front of a Dr. with all the Corvid crap. First one would have let her die, my wifes kidney function got down to 37 percent she was so dehydrated. Kidneys fail at about 15%.

Found another Dr. that came highly recommended. She won't shut up long enough for my wife to tell her how long this has been going on or answer any quesitons. Wouldn't even look at the test the first Dr. did, told my wife she didnt even want to look at them. Took her back to see her today for the second time. She didn't even have all the test results in front of her and argued with my wife she did. My wife said, you ordered 4 different tests, you only have three. My wife heard one of the aids tell the Dr. as she was walking out here is the other test. More test next week to check Kidney function improvment and other stuff.

I am really concerned my wife if has something bad wrong with her, she's been really sick for two weeks. With all that said, she seems to feel better this week than last week. Everything she eats still just goes straight through her. Its all she can do to take a shower and get dressed, she can't even drive herself to the Dr.

It’s starting to seem like there’s no definitive solution to it, and once you have it you’re pretty much screwed. Sigh...
Did she have a colonoscopy/endoscopy? Does she get nausea or just pain?

Try eating 100 percent gluten free. It heals the intestines and limits bloating which can cause pain if there are ulcers and inflammation. Prilosec is great for stomach issues. Tums and pepcid can actually make a stomach allergy type reaction worse if that is the case.

I was on Omeprazole which is the generic for Prilocec for over a month and it didn’t helpSad

She chose not to do the endoscopy. They prescribed her Pepcid. She does get nauseous and pain from time to time. It has definitely gotten better than it was thats for sure.

Cool. I’ll pick up some Pepcid after work tomorrow. I’m also going to look into gluten free bread. I’m feeling like I’m gonna spend a fortune at the grocery store tomorrow

Keep following up with your primary care. I’d imagine he/she make an appointment with a gi specialist After some time without relief. But there is a treatment progression your PCP will be able to step you up to. Then if that doesn’t work you may need scoped to see what’s really going on.

Do you have celiacs disease? If not, gluten free isn’t necessary, likely won’t help.

I’ve already been to a GI Doc and I’ve been scoped. That’s how they found it. They also said I have eosinophilic esauphagitis and they’re gonna send me to an allergist to see what’s causing that. What’s the treatment progression?

The main positive in not eating out much now is dealing with ditzy wait staff when you ask for a gluten free menu or options.

Usually they say something like "Oh, all my friends are going gluten free too!", or they roll their eyes like it's such a bother.

My wife is Celiac, and that shit is horrible.

I get it fairly frequently. If I go nuts on spicy food and beer for a while it flares up. Also if I take Ibuprofen it comes on bad again. Major pain in my upper stomach that tends to feel a little better when I eat then comes back again. I find if I eat plain foods, drink water, and take Andrews salts (in the UK) twice a day then the pain settles down after a couple of days

Whats up guys, it's been a miserable week for me so far. Not as much nausea which is good but the upper stomach pain is insane. I wake up feeling like I haven't ate in a month. Essentially feels like there's a bruise or a rash on the inside of my stomach. Anyways, picked up some Pepcid today ($13 for 25 tabs, jeez) took two while I was working and it seemed to give me a bit of relief. It was Enough relief that I was quite surprised. For now I guess I'll just stick to my bland diet and the Pepcid. I have a follow up call scheduled with my GI doc Monday morning.

I mean since you got that diagnosis it’s pretty rare You really can’t be compared to other people in here. And this is probably going to take quite a few follow-ups with your specialist to titrate in how much you need to ingest for it to actually help, if that’s the route they want to go.

Generally it’s an immune response so they want you to get allergy tested in your main goal is probably going to be avoid those triggers so the allergy testing will be very helpful. It might be a simple as you just avoiding those triggers and you don’t need any other treatment which would be a homerun but if you can’t find the trigger then that’s when Theyll probably Start progression of other treatment. Possibly going to steroids.

Acid suppression > topical glucocorticoids > biologic agents.

New biological are pretty wild how they work.

But you really need to get a really good relationship with your specialist and make sure they know when you’re trying other things Id keep a really good log.

My intestines hurt for a year different from my celiac. Turns out mild diverticulitis and I stopped eating nuts of any sort including peanut butter which I love and it ended in a few days. Really sucks to find out you have both as an adult. Gasx is what they give patients that have extreme gas pains at hospitals too. They work amazing but the catch for me now is they are not gluten free.

I know It may sound dumb but eating cooked apples first thing in the morning lowers the acid levels in the stomach. My esofagus was so inflamated that I had chronic cough and my head would ring from so much coughin.

I also took a deslaxonprasol pill every morning for 90 days.

Im off the treatment for 60 days and feeling great.

Crohn’s disease can involve the stomach. Typically it involves the last part of small bowel but can involve anywhere along the GI tract.
There are disorders where too much acid is produced zollinger ellison syndrome, hypertrophic gastritis, food allergies, or reflux of bile from duodenum into stomach.
Poor gastric emptying / gastroparesis allows food to sit too long in the stomach and can cause your symptoms.
As mentioned, ibuprofen or other NSAIDS wreck the stomach. Alcohol is also not good for stomach.
It comes down to a process of eliminating a lot of stuff until you’re better. Other tests that can help are HIDA scan and gastric emptying.

I’ve dealt with acid reflux, stomach bloating, gastritis for a long time and only recently have I made changes that improved my condition. .

If you have any sort of reflux the doctor will almost always prescribe a PPI proton pump inhibitor like Prevacid, Prilosec, Omeprazole to reduce your stomach acid production. My doctor prescribed it for me about 10 years ago. My reflux improved but I had frequent bloating and stomach pain.

When my stomach got really bad I had a bunch of tests, biopsies, scopes but none of them led to a cure. I got desperate and searched YouTube and found something that was a game changer. I stopped taking Prevacid to reduce acid and started adding acid with apple cider vinegar. It wasn’t an immediate success but I did see good improvement over several week.
The theory is that when you take PPI’s to reduce acid and then eat a full meal (especially gluten), there is not enough stomach acid to break down the food in the stomach. Undigested food then sits in the stomach and begins fermenting which causes excess gas, reflux and irritation. Adding vinegar will help break the food down. I tried several quantities of ACV and settled on 1/2 to 1 teaspoon in a few ounces of water.

Also, do you smoke or dip tobacco? If so, quit or switch to a very mild tobacco or pouches if it’s dip. Switching from strong Copenhagen to mild pouches was the final piece that helped my gastritis to the point that my stomach feels normal even after a big meal.

Hope you find your cure. It’s a bad thing to deal with and live a normal way of life.

If you would, please elaborate on the dip pouches thing. I dip Grizzly mint pouches a can a day, 3 at a time and recently I came to the conclusion that it must have something to do with my stomach bloating and general aching/bowel problems.

I don’t know why dipping causes stomach irritation but I know it does for me, especially if my stomach is empty. I do one pouch at a time and it does not affect my stomach. The Copenhagen totally jack up my stomach even though I’d been dipping it for over 20 years without previous issues.

As for muscle aches and pains, nicotine is a big contributor to that. You can search the web and find a ton of articles.

On an important side note, I recently discovered that nicotine constricts the blood vessels which causes increased heart rate and higher blood pressure. Not good for riding motocross.

Dipping long term can trash mouth, esophagus, stomach and colon. Do best you can to eliminate all tobacco use.

I've dipping for 27 years, started on Kodiak long cut, switched to pouches about 12 years ago. Time to kick it, $7 a can now in CT with all the taxes. Tastes like crap now too and they don't last very long. Aches and pains prolly caused by it too. I'm done. Dr wants a stool sample too.

Interesting recent event has prompted me to make a post on this topic. I visited the Physical Thereapist this morning for the first time for lower back pain. Abdominal bloating, cramps, irregularity has also been a recent topic of discussion with my PCP. After 1/2 hr physical therapy session and basic lumbar exercises resulted in an immediate (as in barely made it home to the throne) substantial and thorough bowel movement, the likes of which may be unparraleled. All abdominal discomfort, bloating, pain, stiffness, etc dissapeared completely and I'm feeling 200% better both orthopedically speaking and internally speaking. By no means am I dispensing medical advice, but Im really scratching my head right now as far as the source of abdominal issues.

I recently went through really bad gerd. Makes me nauseous and I lose my appetite. Believe stress at work made it even worse. Went on for a year had trouble eating lots of food I loved. Just continued to eat boring stuff and changed jobs. It's better now still get a burning in back of my throat when eating certain things. I need to schedule appointment for a specialist at some point. Having stomach issues is no fun really turns your life upside down.

What's up guys, I am feeling much better this week. I've been having a hell of a time trying to stick with this boring diet but I think I'm finally on a good program. Rice, chicken and green tea has pretty much been my entire diet lately. God do I miss coffee and beer.... Anyways, I was thinking of trying probiotics. They've been a hot topic recently and I was just wondering if any of you guys have experience with taking them. I'm also taking lansoprazole every night.

Diverticulitis? My wife's affliction.
Certain foods mess her up. Seeds I think are bad.

My wife drinks the Yakult probiotics. She says it helps 🤷‍♂️

Shoot your specialist a message see what he thinks about adding a probiotic. sounds like your prazole and bland diet is helping immensely.
