There's been a lot of music threads over the years but I'm just wondering if anyone here listens to bands/music groups/etc. from different countries that sing in a different language than their own?

I'm French but I rarely listen to French bands. Most of what I listen to is in English but I do listen to some German bands from time to time. I have no idea what they're singing about but I still find myself enjoying the music.

Anyone else?

Post up band names or videos. Might discover some new stuff and enjoy it.

I listen to a lot of foreign bands that sing in English 95% of the time (Slovenia, Germany, Belgium). I love this band though, Icelandic.

Kaleo, pretty sure they are Icelandic. They have a few songs in their native language.

^^^ "Is the thread meant to highlight bands that sing in other languages besides english?"

Yes. I know there's a lot of bands from different countries that sing in English but if you listen to music that is sang in a different language post them up.

Millencolin and No Fun At All from Sweden are probably my favorite foreign bands. Funny they’re both from Sweden.

I think Rammstein has had the most success in rock and metal singing in German. When I was stationed in Germany in the 90s I always saw advertisements for Rammstein in concert but thought the name sounded stupid because I was stationed at Ramstein Airbase. If only I knew then what I know now.

I did see Andrea Bocelle in concert recently. He sings in Italian and is hugely successful.

Sorry, for folk-metal. But I have no better option to offer from my county at the moment.

Trying to avoid songs in English. So if you have anymore from different languages to post that would be great.

Didn't understand a single word from the first one you posted but it wasn't bad.

Ive gotten into German heavy metal the last few years. It all started with Rammstein back in the day. Started messing around with pandora a couple years ago and ended up down a rabbit hole of German heavy metal. Megaherz and Eisbrecher are both super bad ass. Die Krupps and KDFDM have some decent stuff too. Sorry Im not very tec savvy and Im not sure how to post a video.

I dont understand a word their saying haha. I can say many of the words though just from listening. I get to tapping my fingers and feet like crazy at work. Some of my lineage came here from germany, I often wonder if I dont have some wierd subliminal facination with the language because of my familys distant heritage, but Ive been a metal head since jr high like 20 years ago. Interestingly enough Volbeat was mentioned earlier in this thread and me and the wife are going to see them in concert this year in Michigan.
