Bought a KTM 1290 Super Duke R last weekend so I had to take it to the drag strip to break it in.
I got 10 runs in and never got beat and after I quit and watched for a while I never saw a better time. Not sure if this is good or not but next time I'll take my ZX10.
Here's the first round. Ironically it was against a ZX10 (probably a '10 or '11). It was lowered too. Got him on reaction time. Won the next 3 rounds and brought the trophy home!

But, back to the 1290. That’s a fun ride! What was your initial impressions of running it through the 1/4 mile?
The Shop
My biggest takeaways from the 1/4 was how long it truly is...and it took a while to get that 750 lbs (bike and me) slowed down.
Get a top fuel harley next and let me ride it once, lol.
I go to Bristol just to watch those guys. Seen several go thru the finish over 240 mph and never set the front down.
How does that work? im confused.
Just from looking at your time slip, you are giving up a ton time in the 60', for your overall 1/4 mile time, and your reaction time is, ahhh not so good. You need to leave as soon as you see the last yellow light come on. It looks like you are waiting for the green light to come on. The bike overall though, runs really well.
If I wanted economy mode, I would've stuck with my mechanical 425 Cat. I bought this fuckin turd, based on the test drive, and performance.
Squid, that would be purely a default mode, to protect the engine, if a major fault code pops up.
Pit Row
On one night there were 200 ish vehicles and I was one of the last 2 standing after the evenings run offs. the final final. me vs a super stock car.
We BOTH ran our dial but he got me on the R/T by a tad, THAT was a race.
Summit Motorsports Park is my home track, I like the corn fog in the late fall and the wind you get after the grandstands, kinds makes it a challenge even tho its just goin straight
I have heard those KTM 1290's are awesome, sounds like fun!
