I have huge respect for our troops that are serving abroad. They are doing the job they signed on to and sometimes don't agree with the rationale or reasoning of these wars they are having to deal with. But why is it that every time someone speaks of our troops engaged in a war, they use the typical phrase "Fighting for our freedom" when it's clearly not the case in today.
It pisses me off for our military personnel because it's sometimes (not always), but lately usually a lie.
I'd say that going to Afghanistan to take out the Al Qaeda and the Taliban was about defending the US. Everything else that's happened in the last decade has been about politics.
In a sense, they are fighting for our freedom.
The Shop
Remember, America isn't at war, the military is. America is at WalMart.
It pisses me off big time when i see our servicemen and women maimed knowing they should have never gone to Iraq in the first place. Afghanistan was a good call for the first six to twelve months max but we should have left that shit hole of a country right after that.
In the US we don't have the funds to keeps schools and hospitals open or teachers employed but we have the money to make the war machine billions. Add to that a totally inept foreign policy and it is a huge train wreck any way you slice it IMO..
Making a selected few very rich though.
